I’ve switched my tiny personal website from Hugo to #11ty. No doubt I’ve screwed something up along the way!

This video of “Rorgyle” was very much the inspiration, but I think I bit off more than I could chew

I just found my old thread on rmweb when I started it… https://www.rmweb.co.uk/topic/21855-small-n-gauge-layout-chinthurst/

It was supposed to be a country branch line terminus with a single line entering the scene through a tunnel under the hill on the right over a canal bridge. There was going to be a siding that dropped down to the canal a bit, but I think the slope would have been too much. I have a pretty little Dapol Terrier from LB&SCR but it wasn’t going to be set anywhere in particular. I previously tentatively named it “Chinthurst” after the hill in Surrey near Guildford.

This unfinished N gauge board (I think it’s approx 30cm by 1m) has been in the loft for over 10 years since we moved house. Is it time to resurrect the project, rip it all off and start again or start a less ambitious layout from scratch… 🤔

Enjoying the daily crossword clues from Minute Cryptic. Even if I do need the odd hint (annoying when you are on the right lines to start with!)

Jet Lag: The Game such a nice comfort show

The latest season where they race across Japan with Tom Scott has been a lot of fun ☺️ and while I wait for the next episode, I’ve also been watching their older series in Taiwan.

PS. The WIP site is here: https://staging.jmb.me.uk

I dropped in the webc light/dark theme-switcher to my work in progress website and without much tweaking it just works! Thanks to @bobmonsour for allowing me to use #11tybundle’s for inspiration and some of the code.

I should publish it really!

Oh gawd. I just had to reset a password on the phone for something and they set it to P4ssw0rd1 (fortunately it’s a 2nd-level password after initial authentication)

I immediately changed it and now my changed password isn’t working so I’ll have to get them to reset it again tomorrow. :blobpats:

Hmm, should I update my IPhone 15 to iOS 27 now that 27.0.1 is out or not yet… 🤔

#SVG tip: if your icon has symmetry, you can save a lot of bytes by cutting your path in half and then re-using the first path. For example to mirror horizontally use transform=“translate(512 0) scale(-1 1)” to flip it around the central vertical axis. (512 here is the width of the image, not the mirror line).

Perfect for #SuperTinyIcons

Just had the invoice through for our room hire for the little magic club I'm the treasurer of… £20/hour for 3 hours once a month except August. We have 10 members currently and our subs are £45/year. Fortunately we have some money in the bank (and aren’t paying fees there any more after finally closing the Lloyds account) but ouch! This isn’t sustainable!

I’m quite enjoying going back to basics with the CSS here and not bothering with a framework. Pondering signing up for @kevinpowell ‘s CSS Demystified course as I love his teaching on the free course. Not sure I can justify the cost though as a hobbyist tinkerer!

Getting there I think… new version: https://staging.jmb.me.uk vs https://jmb.me.uk

@Floppy Do you have an icon for @manyfold to use where monochromatic icons might be used for social links?

Hmm… I just looked into #Hacktoberfest for this year and it’s all about AI.

Converting my website from #Hugo to #11ty and trying fix the differences in markdown processing…

Just started using our new food waste bin yesterday with caddy liners, but how do you stop it stinking? Already had to empty it to the outside bin!

@anydigital Another question from this newb! If I don’t want to use the complete starter (as I’d quite like to have ab it more control), how can I just use the @anyblades/blades package and import/copy the CSS from there?
