@adactio's whole post is worth a read, and I would underline + bold the last point: the web is the superior choice for privacy and security, so it's anti-web *and anti-user* to preference native app install affordances like most mobile browsers do today:
@0xabad1dea Even more than my own "adversarial communication" hypothesis what this is starting to remind me of is the proposed concept of chaffing and winnowing <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chaffing_and_winnowing>. Bots emit the chaff, humans winnow to the actual useful information, nearly all of the useful effort is in the winnowing but the bots get the credit for having "generated" the solution.
Sublime Text is so old you can’t even log into it. There are no accounts. Can you imagine that? Text editor with no accounts? Even Notepad has Sign in

The HTML cat is out of the Web Audio bag. I've finally released HYPERBLAM.
It’s my system for sampling, processing, and sequencing sound and music directly in HTML.

React apps are, overwhelmingly, just straight-up worse than plain old server-rendered markup. I don’t understand why everyone keeps building with it. The DX isn’t even that good.

I made a typo while writing something about microservices, and called them "independently deplorable".
I might just leave it.
HTML is the foundation of the web, structuring content with elements like headings, paragraphs, and links. Understanding semantic tags like header, main, section, and footer improves accessibility and SEO. Keep markup clean, validate regularly, and use meaningful tags to create robust, maintainable websites. Whether you’re new or experienced, revisiting core concepts is always worthwhile.
The irony of megabytes of JavaScript force-fed to users in the name of “Nobody wants full page reloads!!!” and then exactly that full page reload being necessary to make the app work properly. FFS… 😣 #Github
I hate to say I’m desperate, but I haven’t had work in *months*. If anyone’s looking for a #freelance senior #wordpress #developer, please keep me in mind. I do full, custom theme builds, specialize in #accessibility and #semantic code, and am a great communicator about time estimates and budgets! My full portfolio is www.amberweinberg.com
If you don’t have any work, I would appreciate a boost 😊

I can’t see how any of the current LLM-based ecosystem will survive once the money circle-jerk ends. And now there a huge bunch of pre-trained models out there anyone will be able to run them on their own infra (GPUs will be cheap as chips once the bubble bursts). It’s not like most corporate users make use of the “knowledge” part of the models - there’s far more call for performing classification and summarisation tasks than “who won the Mexico ‘86 World Cup?” general knowledge questions.
i was quite surprised to discover that no one had registered deleteduser [dot] com, and was curious to see how many emails i'd get if i registered it, assuming many orgs 'delete' logic probably just overwrote the email address with blahblah@deleteduser.com or similar.
The answer, is at least 3 different orgs in the hour that I've owned that domain and been listening for email.
And yes, all of those emails contain the actual PII of the person who has been 'deleted' :-D
🚩✊️️️️️️ Friday is Dependency Deletion Day, and today it's time to replace your accordion component with plain old <details>. You can group multiple elements with the name attribute, and bam—there's your accordion, keyboard-controllable and cross-browser compatible. For a grand total of 0 bytes and 0 supply-chain attacks!

I have a calculator that is correct 80% of the time. But don't worry, every time I use it, I check the results myself.
