Well, that’s a first…
Ordered food around 4:45 for delivery. Order got picked up at 5:10 by a gig worker who spent an hour moving around our area getting closer then farther away from our home. Like, literally circling the block. I finally tracked the person down on foot some time after 6.
They were riding around our neighborhood on a dockless scooter without any obvious means of delivering our food, which they did not have on their person. To my discredit, I wasn’t able to speak conversantly with them in their first language, so we weren’t able to sort out exactly what went wrong.
The restaurant, which is very much open, isn’t answering their phone and I have to wait two to three business days to dispute the charge with my credit card company.
Meanwhile, I’ve got two extremely hangry children to feed.
So, that was a whole ass ordeal.
