😳😳😳If you would’ve asked me in 2024, I would’ve assumed Xiaomi would be gobbling market share from Apple in China in 2026 - but Xiaomi is in free-fall now.

With iOS27, Golden Gate, and Ternus, Apple seems to have passed through a bottleneck into another phase of the company.

@hotdogsladies I’m a fan of Bill Bailey and the Late Sean Lock, so this popped up in my feed, and I thought you’d be interested too, despite the jumpy editing at the beginning.

Sean & Bill were good friends, so listening to Bill talk about him is always wonderful.

@hotdogsladies “Emotional Wampum Trading” is a great phrase!

At the fork of the two routes - short to the left, long to the right. A tiny shrine (washed out) and a faded 1980s hiking route sign sits at the corner. ⛰️🚵‍♂️⛰️

@asymco Where should I look for understanding this massive drop in China Startup funding?

I have loved your analysis for a long time, so I trust you and your recommendations.☺️

@hotdogsladies The idea of “Porcelain Greg” has been stuck in my head for an hour - do any of the crazy caricatures you come up with on podcasts get stuck in your head long after the bit is over?

SmershPod on The Running Man:

“Once they’ve gone through the idea of the elements they’re completely buggered…

You need more than 4 or 5 stalkers, don’t you?

How about some really random ones, like ‘Porcelain Greg’— ‘Watch the Suit! It’s Ming!’”

BanyaBat does a great job at illustrating their silly podcast.

Every time I rewatch Deadwood, I am reminded of how so many people wish they had the virtues of Al, Bullock, Dan, Jewel, or Sol - but I always end up seeing myself in Johnny.

@hotdogsladies My Japanese ear improved a bit, so when Decard is trying to order noodles in his first scene, the old noodle vendor says “Matte Kudasai, yo!” as he turns away, Which is basically “Jeez, wait a moment please!” 🍜

@glennf I was watching an old radio repair video on YouTube, and while demonstrating the tuner is at least functional, he scanned through the stations, and at time code 43:09 I swear I hear you say “It actually fits!” on a random station - could that possibly be you?

Maybe my mind is playing tricks on me ☺️
