Belangrijk verschil tussen wat Extinction Rebellion doet en wat de boeren vandaag gedaan hebben:
* Het protest van de boeren was niet op de snelweg, maar bij het provinciehuis. Hun demonstratierecht zou dus niet zijn beknot door hen te verbieden om met de trekker de snelweg op te gaan; en
* De blokkades van XR vinden plaats op een stuk weg wat wel de A12 genoemd wordt, maar niet meer een snelweg is. De snelweg houdt op bij de bebouwde kom van Den Haag.
XR zou eens voor doden moeten zorgen dan zou het land te klein zijn...

It's so sweet that people send us flowers! But a lot of those bouquets include lilies, which are toxic to cats, and we do have a cat.
I need to find a diplomatic way to say something like: "Oh, thank you for the flowers, please specify 'no lilies' next time!" without sounding like an ungrateful asshole.

Een paar jaar geleden heeft Marlies ten Voorde de "Dodenrit" van Drs.P. onherstelbaar verbeterd en eigenlijk is haar versie onverminderd actueel (en grappig).
We made sure the unit was level, loaded a CDR (at that time worth their weight in gold, especially the "archival quality" ones, which we used) and made everything ready on the PC side.
When we started the burn, we'd slowly back away and leave the office for 75 minutes. If all went well, the drawer would be open and the newly burned CDR would be ready -- and if not, well... we'd have to do the whole thing again.
My father had one of the first CD burners, I think it was a Plextor unit? SCSI interface, because that was what the Professionals used, and certainly not the messy IDE standard. He had to buy an extension card with a SCSI socket.
The unit was single speed (of course) and did not buffer all that well (if at all), so you'd have to defragment the disk before burning so that a movement of the head across the disk would not interrupt the flow of data.
Someone made a disk defragmenter simulator. Instant nostalgia.

Shell is zo'n bedrijf dat liever heeft dat jij dood gaat dan dat zij 1 euro minder winst maken. Ik tank al jaren niet meer bij de Shell, ze kunnen de blafhoest krijgen.
