Packing for a vacation is always so... weird? Like: how many hoodies do I need to take with me? Should I pack my jacket in the big suitcase that we're sending to our hotel from the airport, or in the hand-luggage? How many pairs of socks is enough, and how many pairs of socks is too many?
I JUST MADE AN INTERESTING DISCOVERY (about using #Mastodon):
Most know that if you click the "Media" link in your profile, it'll show you every pic/vid you attached to your posts.
But if you Right-Click and open the pic in a NEW TAB, it'll also open THE POST it was linked too! (in case you need to find an old post but can't find it via a search.) 😃
The cool thing is that we only need a single 65W USB-C charger to take care of two laptops, two phones and a camera. Truly the EU is making our lives easier.

Almost anything is better than D&D5.
But also, Rolemaster has many crunchy bits, but play is smooth and fast. Remains one of my faves for old-style RPGs.
are you having a nice time on feddy?

The ostrich has the lowest brain-to-bodymass ratio of any living bird. An ostrich eye is actually larger than an ostrich brain, and less than a third of their (very small) cranial real estate houses brain.
And yet, no ostrich has ever written an opinion piece about how Claude is conscious and has a soul.

I find it hard to put into words how much this excites me
3.5 stars for "The Society of Unknowable Objects" by Gareth Brown. A by-the-numbers "secret society keeps magic hidden from humanity" story, tense at moments. https://app.thestorygraph.com/reviews/625c80cd-061c-40fd-aabb-817dc578e1d2

people complain about rounded corners in modern ui design. but have you considered how much safer this is making the internet for children??
This is how you sign "Mastodon" in Finnish sign language. Kudos to my deaf wife @mustikkasoppa ❤️ #SignLanguage #FinnishSignLanguage #Viittomakieli
Going through the mandatory annual anti-harassment training. 35 minutes of basically being told "Don't be an asshole".
Though of course, nobody ever thinks of themselves as the asshole, so it's good that even if you think you don't need the training, you go through it anyway. Maybe I'll learn something about myself...
Some people say that Japan is so technologically advanced, but the website where you can buy tickets for the trains has opening hours like it's a physical, manned ticket office.
And knowing the way Japan automates processes, I would not be surprised if there is no active connection between the website and the reservation system and it is someone's job to manually enter the reservations from the website into the actual system.
TIL: only three movies have swept picture, director, actor, actress and screenplay at the Oscars: "It Happened One Night", "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest", and "The Silence of the Lambs".
Bugs Bunny was created as a parody of Clark Gable's character from It Happened One Night, who talked through a mouthful of carrots in one scene as a gag.
But wild rabbits don't eat root vegetables.
So today, people feed carrots to pet rabbits because of a 1940 cartoon parody of a 1934 Clark Gable movie.
De vraag "Ben je klaar voor vandaag?" heeft in de ochtend een heel andere betekenis dan in de avond.

Ultravox sing "This means nothing to me" just a few times too often to believe them
Vanmiddag bij Bob's Vinyl in Aarle-Rixtel (oa) een LP met 80's alternative gekocht. Dus Bronski Beat in de #ZaAvaDi!
