I love documentation and writing it but when I'm working on an existing project built by others, I'm so intimidated by matching the documentation style that my writing initially becomes really bad.
It's #RNGDay, so I made some roll tables to generate childish insults!
Feel free to roll some and get your feelings hurt!
(I'll stream the selection for next year's date in a couple of hours <3)
Too many people judge the disabled for what we do to survive.
The truth is you can’t fathom what it’s like to live in a body that’s betrayed you.
To exist in legislated poverty with no reliable help or care.
To be left by the wayside to die and abandoned by almost everyone.
People will claim to understand.
They will try and empathize.
But then they say things like “if it were really that bad you would have support”.
Or “you just have to try harder and get another doctor”.
They don’t actually listen to us.
They talk over us.
They’re utterly convinced that they know better about our suffering, and that if we really wanted to get better we could.
We simply don’t want it bad enough.
Nothing could be further from the truth.
Disabled people are incredibly resourceful.
We’re surviving in a system doing its utmost to kill us.
If “wanting” to get better was all it took, no one would be chronically ill.
If support showed up whenever it was truly needed, no one would suffer.
If healthcare helped, we would be lined up at the hospital doors.
Please don’t judge what you can’t understand
Try and realize it’s your own fear and denial that makes you need to believe everything is “fixable”… because you can’t fathom getting sick and never getting better
Disability comes for almost everyone… help us build a better world
Happy International RNG Day! 🎲
To celebrate the most random day of the year, the newest Roll the Zine issue — fresh out of print — is filled with stories about randomness in board games.
Randomness, while not a necessary part, is an important tenet of board games.
Big thank you to @Sophie, @frankcavil, Eric Harshberger and Carl Hoff for interviews, articles and collaboration.
After an in-person League Cup and evening of GLC over webcam, I think it's time to play a little bit of Pokemon TCG Live to finish the day.
It’s #RNGDay tomorrow (the 11th)!
Tomorrow I’ll be streaming the random selection of next year’s date, and detailing how I removed all the annoying signal from my wonderful noise <3
After another mad zine late deadline crush, I think I got this month's Roll the Zine issue ready for tomorrow's release in celebration of #RNGDay.
I'm very happy with how it turned out. Out of my 7 issues so far, definitely the best.
That's what we in the business call learning!
16 pages of stories about randomness in board games coming to a RSS reader/browser/printer near you tomorrow afternoon.

I went 2-2 with four wonderful matches with great people. We had 14 players with four rounds of swiss.
Tournament report is out!

Due to irrelevant nerdy reasons, I've spent some time handling Magic the Gathering cards the past few days, and I LOVED seeing artists credited clearly.
Every. Single. Card.
We are surrounded by illustrations and drawings whose authors go unnamed unless you dig deep into the instructions or manuals, and sometimes not even that.
Now, we're being swamped by Computer Rendered Artificial Pictures (CRAP) fed on their creativity and their unique ways to see and create.
Let's normalise acknowledging artists together with their art. *Human* art.
Image captions, ALT text, anything. Write their names. Promote them. Shut up slop corporations by giving voice to the humans who should *never* lose it.
Pokemon TCG League Cup day!
Brought my Rocket Box to the tournament today.
My face when I run my 28 line script and get an error on line 29.

Huge thanks to @sovtechfund supporting my work as release manager and enabling another smooth release!
I have probably a few hundred screenshots of my home view in my phone's gallery because I accidentally hit the buttons when I try to lock it with one hand. And I'm too lazy to delete them when it happens.
What the fuck is going on in the web?
I got an email from someone saying that they redesigned my website, using my photos and videos, had published it online and tried to sell it for me for thousands — and if I wanted them to take it down, I'd have to ask them.
First 3/4 were quite easy to fill but it's been a while since a game has fit to the Helmet Gaming Challenge.
I'm missing:
- A game set in or inspired by the 1980s
- A game where sleep and sleeping matters (does burnout count as a game?)
- A game set at night
- A game about friendship

Every time I stand on a bus stop, I keep the hope up that one day a cat bus arrives.
Today wasn't one of those days, a regular empty night bus arrived and took me to my next adventure.
✍️ New post on a neat Zsh feature for saving the command you’re currently typing for later, giving you room to run a setup command first.
Handy for when you go “oops, that won’t work until I run X first”.
