In my personal day-to-day experience, as a user, software quality is
You might wonder: why anyone would write command-line scripts in node.js?!
The answer, for me, is that I figured out a while ago that the javascript engine has been the focus of so much optimization effort that it's competitive with compiled code for some simulations that I've been running. Also, it has the side benefit that the same code can run in a web browser.
I got tired of re-inventing the wheel and compiled a set of command-line script templates for bourne shell, perl5, python3, and node.js
Maybe you'll find them useful too: https://github.com/grwhitehead/cmdline-templates

Also, trying to find the non-existent Wikipedia page for Laughing Monk Brewing, I found this on @jessamyn’s page!
In 2022 Laughing Monk Brewing created a benefit beer named Sister Jessamyn dedicated to West for her "activism, work on the digital divide, and safe access to knowledge and free spaces." The Sister Jessamyn beer is made with Citra, Mosaic, and Cashmere. Partial proceeds go to SF Food Not Bombs.
Finally “upgraded” to iOS 18 and, OMG, please let me turn off the huge ugly icons in the Mail app. They take up valuable real estate and add nothing
Happy #caturday

Whee, just used ‘git rebase’ for the first time… it’s a nice alternative to ‘git merge’ when you want to bring the commit history along.
I’m not exactly new to git, but I’ve used a lot version control systems over the years and have learned the hard way to stick to the basics, so this was a bit of an experiment that I’m happy I tried.
A few people asked, so I made some more "spectre" puzzles and listed them for sale on Etsy https://www.etsy.com/shop/grwster
@ivory Question: following the DDOS attack on mastodon.social yesterday, my ivory client is still stuck, feeding me old posts 10 at a time. The mastodon app just jumped ahead and is working fine. The website is working fine too. Is this a known problem with ivory, or a problem with my settings, or maybe I’m “doing it wrong”?
Interop 2022 was a great success, with over 90% over features implemented across all engines!
