If you’d like to order a copy of *That One Matt Bors Comic* with a custom inscription, today is the last day! After that, I’ll offer signed copies by Matt and me (no inscription), along with regular unsigned copies. We also have giclée and digital prints of the comic. https://aperiodical.net/tombc
I’ve gotten about 17 texts from Scott Colom’s campaign (MS Sen) just today.
I want you to win but JFC all y’all need to stop wasting money on campaign consultants whose idea of good outreach is clogging up peoples’ phones with gimme-money texts because they gave Obama $10 in 2008.
Periodicals must be desperate. I have gotten so many newsletters and subscription offers from newsletters and magazines, where I a) never subscribed before (Condé Nast) b) certainly opted-out of marketing emails from that pub (CN again) c) they added a new list and auto-opted me in [content, not ad]
It arrived too late for Halloween, but never mind!

As the book moves toward shipping later this month, I’ll post brief excerpts highlighting each contributor, including the eponymous Matt Bors. Or is he titular?
This book looks into the Improve Society meme that Matt created accidentally with the help of 21 contributors—cartoonists and essayists—along with an interview with Matt, an article by me, and more. Look inside the book here for a preview! https://thatonemattborscomic.com/look-inside.html
Brand faces a lengthy prison term…so far. Other charges are being investigated by the police, and when a powerful man falls, other people are often relieved enough to come forward.
Kids today don’t even know what an antimacassar is. Standards have fallen!
So will the people who left Bluesky and Mastodon because they think they are “bubbles” and went to “X” come back now?
Did fucky mcfuckhead lose the Texas Railroad Commission race? Bo French. (Bo is short for BigOt.) Ah! He lost by 7 points.

Checking in on the 15 House districts that Republicans targeted with their new gerrymanders this cycle. They were always going to fall short of their hopes, but their failure was dramatic. Even the two seats they did flip barely went their way.
Dems should hire Norm Eisen as a shadow Attorney General. Give him a seal.
As a general note, I think one lesson Dems should have learned is that there's nothing to be gained in being slow & methodical. The way to succeed in this media environment is to do *everything at once, all the time*. Always be acting, setting the agenda, dictating the news cycle. Move, move, move.
We are seeing statehouse gains akin to what 2010 gave the GOP. We need to use them to lock in voting rights and civil rights protections.
I have a picture of Zohran Mamdani in my upcoming book, That One Matt Bors Comic. I was proofing it remotely with the Canadian firm that’s printing it, and one of the press guys said, good timing on that photo. @mattbors
Remember, remember the gales of November.
