I'm still looking for a #uk based #reactnative developer for a contract starting asap - £650, fully remote. Details below - they're a great team (placed a few of them!) and you'll be working for a political party I can't name for their sake but you can probably guess if you know me based on my toots... :)

Get in touch this week if you can > thayer@team-prime.com

Don't make me go back to Linkedin, I'm begging you.

I swear to god I just heard a Korok laugh.

Yeah, okay, fair play Switzerland.

Don’t mind me, just doing some holiday research.

I actually bought one of these last week because of the ad in b3ta, and it is a brilliant hoodie.

Why is there what looks like a B-1 Lancer doing laps over #Oxford?

A team can have:

2-week sprints.
Daily stand-ups.
Retrospectives.
A Scrum board.

…and still take six weeks to make a small change.

That's because process agility and technical agility aren't the same thing.

If the code fights every change, the organization eventually moves at the speed of the codebase.

First Dolly Parton, now Tim Curry. Fuck this week in particular.

Coyote vs Acme is an absolute joy, and that DJ Shadow/Run The Jewels needle drop was perfect!

UK based only - Senior Developer for The Electoral Commission // £70,000 // fully remote possible, hybrid at UK hubs also fine if your preference.

Fancy working with interesting data problems, and services that need to scale to millions of voters? You'll help bring a major voter-information service in-house and shape what comes next.

YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU! We all need you. Plz.

Interested? I'm sole recruiter for this > thayer@team-prime.com CVs pls!

I really really liked The End of Oak Street. It plays out like the best kind of Twilight Zone “…but what if…” episodes.

Introducing @botofunusualsize. Each day it posts a single clip from "The Princess Bride."

I love capturing those moments where London Underground trains line up perfectly with station posters. With a little patience and a bit of luck, you can end up with some wonderfully amusing and unexpected shots.

This service is incredible: https://bingebuster.net

Select which streaming services you have access to and it'll create a virtual Blockbuster of films available to you. Walk around the genres, look at the staff picks, select a film.

Best of all: no log ins or anything like that.

Lovely.

An upcoming Laika release is always cause for excitement, so getting this unexpected extra in my Empire Magazine subs delivery has made my day.

Picnicking.

"Is this repo manually coded? If it's manually coded you're being left behind."

Ma'am, that is a twenty five thousand LoC slab of C++ code. It targets a console designed twenty two years ago and discontinued twelve years ago. It is an amalgamation of the work of several developers, forked, patched, reformatted, strained, and ultimately inexorably joined in an unholy Make ruleset. Market economics had no hand in the creation of this abhorrence. The fact that this project exists proves that God is either impotent to alter His universe or ignorant to the horrors taking place in his kingdom. This prism of code is more than a story point. It is a physical declaration of mankind's contempt for entropy. It is hubris manifest.

We also have an SDL3 port if you would prefer that.
