i have a question for speakers of different languages regarding how the software you are using expresses the concept of "an action is currently happening" (examples in english: "Downloading updates..." / "Saving report.doc, please wait...")
so far i see the following options, please correct me or provide with additional ones, or info on languages i have not mentioned
#german / #deutsch: passive voice with phrases such as "wird heruntergeladen" (is being downloaded)
#french / #français: nouns corresponding to verbs, such as "lecture" (reading), "téléchargement" (down-/uploading) and "enregistrement" (saving)
#russian / #русский: likewise verbal nouns, such as "чтение" (reading), "загрузка" (loading/uploading), "сохранение" (saving)
#italian / #italiano: verbal nouns ending in -aggio
I can write and edit without the "assistance" of AI tools. I hear those might be vanishing skills. I need to work part-time for health reasons, and am having difficulty finding regular, decently-paid work.

On #LinkedIn, two recruiters in the last month have contacted me about tech support positions. The last job I had where I did tech support ended in *1998*. That's almost 30 years ago! Even if I wanted to resume doing tech support - which I absolutely, categorically *do not* - I wouldn't be qualified for it now.

I used to have a analog scale that my spouse got (for free) from a doctor's office, where you slide the weight thingies along the bars at the top, which was probably more accurate. My spouse also pointed out that you'd get the same results if you weighed yourself with it while on the moon. But it took up a lot of space, so we eventually gave it away.
I use a no-frills digital scale, and round to the nearest pound; i.e., if it says 150.2 I log 150, if it says 150.6 I log 151. I do this because I don't feel it's possible for a home body weight scale to be truly accurate to within a tenth of a pound, and even if it were, I don't feel that bit of information is useful for my health goals.
I normally weigh myself first thing in the morning on Mondays. But today (Wednesday) I weighed myself again, since it's the 1st of the month and I wanted to see how much my weight changed since March 1, when I made changes to my diet.
