fuck it, making a poll

for reference, i started using computers in the late 2000s (earliest i can remember)

i wonder if folks' comfortability with using the terminal on their choen OSes depends on age. like older folks might have more experience since they grew up with less graphical OSes and are therefore more comfortable using the terminal

corpos, regardless of size, are not your friends

in fact, maybe you shouldn't even be running a service if your only method of customer support is to outsource it to a siloed community that requires an account to join, especially one that could burn down at any given moment. fuck discord and fuck every app like it

yes, there are actually services out there that make you join a discord server to delete your account. a massive "fuck you" to them

i am once again begging every website with an account system to have a one-button account deletion process (with confirmation, obviously). it should just be a thing at the bottom of your account settings. i should not have to email you to delete my account, and i especially should not have to join your shitty fucking discord

If you needed a win as badly as I have lately, mark this one down: CSS-Tricks is returning as an independent publication.

Spread the word.

guess not

i guess it could also be called conceptual dance? is "conceptual" a common prefix for genres?

hopefully this becomes the tipping point for these activist orgs to get off instagram. as much as i love them, i can't help but point out how dependent they are on that place despite the fact that they can be booted at any given moment

i think you already know what i'm gonna link as an example

before i went to sleep i was thinking about the idea of progressive dance (not to be confused with progressive house)

progressive dance, mirroring progressive rock, is part of the contrast i personally find between "electronic music" and "EDM." it also falls under alternative dance, i suppose

progressive dance would pretty much be:

- any electronic song that's at least six minutes long
- any electronic album that's at least an hour long
- (in addition to either of the above) explicitly designed to take the listener on a journey or through a concept. can't be the vibe of a journey, has to be a journey itself

i got a PhD (pretty huge dog)
