I'm sure that when US Secretary of State Marco Rubio first realised that Donald Trump was going to win the presidency again and decided to join forces with the man he'd repeatedly accused of being utterly unfit for the highest office in the land, he thought he was just being pragmatic. He'd be a stabilising force in an otherwise unhinged administration. Marco likely saw himself as the person who could save America's international influence and reputation in the years ahead. Only he could stop the Trump Chaos Machine from shattering the nation's most important friendships and vital relationships. He would be a voice of sanity and moderation aboard the ship of fools that Trump was keen to steer into the iceberg at flank speed.

So now Marco Rubio, far from saving his nation's silverware, finds himself complicit in a range of international crimes, ranging from murder to kidnapping and genocide as well as the overthrow of a foreign government to loot its nation's wealth.

You have to wonder what's going through Little Marco's mind as he awaits charges from the Hague and watches the giant iceberg emerge from the fog ahead. It's massive, looming above the SS USA like a floating Everest as she hurls herself towards it with total abandon, while from the bridge comes the cackling laughter of her mad captain.
