Oh good, having a gout attack again despite the allopurinol

If you’re thinking that it’s a while since the UK did something idiotic re trans people, I’ve just read that England Touch, the governing body for touch rugby in England, is now requiring trans and non-binary people to register under their birth gender. Touch is, by definition, mixed-gender.

(Edited as the position has been clarified to me, but frankly might as well still be a ban)

Apparently #biceptember is a thing?

My Reform-run county council banned Pride/LGBTQ+ displays in libraries earlier this year, so I put in a freedom of information request.

Not a single complaint from a resident in the last three years.

I’m shocked. Shocked, I tell you.

Coach gave me licence to go a bit heavier than what was on the programme, but I decided that it was wiser to do the same weight as last week, just better.

@thatmanmatt I assume this has been added to the shrine? https://www.instagram.com/p/DaF_4shIDU_/?igsh=MWduZmo2Zno5amxiYg==&igsi=MWduZmo2Zno5amxiYg==

Deadlifts have been in the toilet since I came back from holiday, so it was nice that this moved like air.

One for @motoridersd

Feeling good* in the gym today.

*thirsty

A very good way of spending a sunny Sunday afternoon

I’ve been out of the country for nearly 2 weeks and so my house has been locked up with everything closed during the latest heatwave. Hive tells me that my bedroom is currently 31° 🫠🤮

At an airport. A woman in front of me at security had her bag pulled for manual search; a Magic Wand falls out.

Birthday money well spent.

The lighting in my gym’s “posing area” is homophobic

Today has been a hard day; sort of going through the motions but getting stuff done.

It’s the anniversary of my Dad’s death. It was a violent death, and it wasn’t till I started therapy for the PTSD last year that I realised I’d never grieved for him. I was a child, I didn’t know what grief was.

Until my therapist asked a question, and the floodgates opened.

Today I’m not avoiding the day like I have in other years.

Here’s to you, Dad. I miss you.

I was just talking to the Bear about visiting Dijon, where I lived about 30 years ago. SNCF has withdrawn the direct train from CDG, so the journey time from the airport is now 4-5 hours. Because, to paraphrase @jon, SNCF doesn’t serve passengers, it serves its own interests.

21 years with the Bear today so we went for dinner.

So this happened today. Only the second time I’ve won best lifter and I was genuinely stunned.

2026 and people are still using 4:3 in PowerPoint

This has been a long time coming. 170 for a double, it wasn’t max effort, and my biceps tendon didn’t hurt.
