It seems like there are some issues (potentially security related) with the Git repository linked to on the #TinyCC homepage https://bellard.org/tcc/

Specifically the tag cloud shows a couple of racist and sexist slurs that have been injected (I haven't grep-ed the sources on a locally checked out copy).

I consider TinyCC to be an important building block / stepping stone in a verifiable, reproducible bootstrap build ladder. So I'd like to encourage people to look into this.

- Red Team people so that they understand that there will always be blind spots. Show them how to minimize exposure in everyday situations by assimilation of behaviors and routines that actually work, instead of relying on gut-feeling "intuitions" that more often than not don't.

- Blue Team people on actions to take in the case when (not if) shit hits the fan.

However, the BIG issue was not the technical details (easy), but breaking through the mental barriers and diversions that went up in the victim's mind.

The amount of psychological self-flagellation (the victim blaming themselves) was staggering. One can't perform cool headed actions and decisions in a calm manner in that state of mind.

Fortunately I was present right there and then. So I rattled off the protocols I've internalized (and also designed):

Write a protocol of what happened, with which object, collating all known information. Prepare a checklist for all the emergency communication to do, including fields to fill in recording the key information exchanged. Audio recordings of all phone calls, etc. etc. For every stop write down date and time it was done.

I see a huge demand (as in: they're in dire need of it) for everyday #opsec training for people in #retirement People in employment might receive the occasional opsec training there.

However, folk who've been enjoying their life after work (maybe for 15 years or more), will likely not have actionable training at all.

Case in point: A close family member in retirement apparently got their debit cards stolen; instantly turned into a deer-in-headlights mess the moment they noticed.

tangent question: What monospace font is that? I've been stuck for ages on DejaVu Sans Mono, as this is the only one I know of that passes the "iI1lo0O" distinctiveness test.

The font you're using here does pass that test too, but it's not DejaVu Sans Mono. I like it!

bei den Post-Mortem-Diskussionen die es nächste Woche bei Hetzner geben wird würde ich gerne Mäuschen spielen.

Gut: Kunden mit mehr als ausreichend Vorlauf darüber informieren, dass ein Update der Netzwerkinfrastruktur nur ganz-oder-gar-nicht geht (kann ich verstehen, HPE hat mal einer Uni über 5 Jahre Forschungsdaten vernichtet, weil die inkompetent ein sukzessives Update probierten).

Schlecht: Jetzt hat's genau dieser Infra doch noch die Latschen aufgestellt.

Did you ever have the – uh – "pleasure" of working with CUPL? A current extension of a project required the addition of some reconfigurable combinatorial logic glue circuitry (slow, basically just some human operated switches) without introducing any oscillators/clock signals whatsoever (so that could avoid going through RF EMI testing); so no FPGAs because SPI config.

So I thought: Hey, we can use a CPLD for that. I learnt a new curse:
