I'm growing tired of people blaming accessibility guidelines, for stripping away the creativity from the web.
Most websites are not accessible. Many designers don't know (yet I hope), or don't care about accessibility. Or care in a performative way.
So, stop blaming accessibility for this. Thanks.

@chicating yeah, I can see that happening. People seem to very easily slip into that idea that other people have less agency or deep inner lives. Main character syndrome I guess - as well as rampant bigotry!

Something to chew on, this Pride month:

As a cis and/or hetero person, you don't have to understand how it feels to be gay, pan, or ace, to be trans, enby, genderfluid or any other identity or orientation. You don't need to intellectually "get" it. It doesn't have to make sense to you.

There's nothing more to it than taking people's word for how they feel, and standing alongside them, as they simply live their lives as themselves.

Much love :BetterPrideHeart:

@evan My apologies, in that you meant that for a specific crowd, of which I'm not a member. Didn't mean to horn in or take credit for somebody else's things. Just appreciated your thought, as a reflection of a global set of values that I'd like to think I *do* play a small part. You write well! Hardly think I've ever said this without irony but literally: Thanks for sharing it.
