Trump has imposed sanctions on the International Criminal Court and dropped sanctions on Putin's diesel exports.

What kind of man does that, and what kind of country has a ruler like that?

I'd have a suggestion which country needs a new president.
Spoiler: it's not Ukraine.
Unless Ukrainians want it.

We are still in the Indian Summer weather pattern.
The red leaves are down, carpeting the forest floor.
The yellows are dominating now.

A crustose lichen on a branch that fell from a tree today.
I examined its spores under a microscope and inserted some photos of them into the image.
Their average size is 16.6 x 10.2 µm, so I think the lichen is a Brown-eyed Rim Lichen (Lecanora allophana).

Not all that glitters is gold: I assume this is Fool's Gold, in Quartz (let me know if I'm wrong 😉).
Small amounts of gold can be found here, I've been told, so you never know...

Driving up North today.
Cobre Lake is a must see this time of year.

Alberta doesn’t have an immigration crisis - but it surely faces an economic crisis, if the government succeeds in chasing immigrants and investors away with its racist referendum questions. In the Senate last night, I rose to denounce the scapegoating of migrants, to tell some hard truths, and to laud the economic and social value of newcomers to Alberta, especially for rural renewal. I hope you will share and boost my remarks so that more people can hear them before they vote. https://youtu.be/to7o-4rwHKQ?si=wPe22Rknr7kgu5n4 #cdnpoli #ableg #abpoli #Alberta #Canada #SenateofCanada #immigration

Favourite tiny (1 mm) find on a decomposing log: Blue-stain Fungus aka Green Elfcup or Turquoise Wood Cup or... (Chlorociboria) - this beautiful fungus has changed names too often to keep track.
