I have a hypothesis that the Norwegian word "trulte" for a short and rotund girl, almost certainly from "trulte" meaning 'roll' (v.), shares a root with English "trend" and "trundle". My very superficial investigation neither proved nor disproved this.

My dog really wanted to go fight a coyote just now and the coyote really wanted to know wtf was up with this growling creature attached to a human with a flashlight. So that was a fun evening walk ... The coyote followed us back like it wanted to know where we live. It's going to come round tomorrow with friends, ring the doorbell and say "can the dog come out? We just want to talk." but the coyotes at the back will be tittering.
Instead of
1. Getting a backend dev / "magic" site builder / AI to build your web interface, then
2. Getting an accessibility specialist to diagnose the considerable number of problems this creates
3. Hiring a front-end developer (or 5) to take the output and try and polish a massive turd
Do this:
1. Hire a front-end developer to build your web interface
Danes and Norwegians, separated by an almost common language.
Norwegian uses the word "tøys" or "tøysete" (silliness, nonsense / silly), Dane goes "are you a misogynist?".
Dane uses the word "tøs" (slut), Norwegian goes "are you a time traveling misogynist from the 19 the century?"

Well played, Darrington Press! Well played!
Found a wasp nest buried in the compost bin. Now I have eight painful stings spread from buttock to scalp. Angry little beasties! Hope they'll chill out enough so I can put the lid back on the bin and pretend I never met them.
It's probably too much to hope that this an AI generated "developer who looks like Jesus" image and that Martin Starr will sue their asses for using his likeness, but wouldn't it be delightful if that happened?

Once Upon a Time Scandinavian scientists would translate terms for new discoveries, like surstoff (sour/acidic matter) for oxygen (a close translation of you didn't know the etymological meaning of oxygen). But most of these fell out of fashion in the later half of the 20th century except in certain contexts, letting 21th century journalists construct such nonsense pleonasms as "surstoffmangel (hypoxia, lit. lack of oxygen) og oksygenunderskudd (oxygen deficit)".
At least the Cretaceous is still Kritt-tida (the time of chalk) and CO is kullos (coal emanation).

Just unsubscribed from @Posit emails after seeing their AI focus in keynotes for upcoming conference. I want efficient code and a functioning foss ecosystem, not bloated AI slop making foss unsustainable. Stop taking and promoting free/discounted heroin samples from the amoral/evil AI tech giants!

Was going to make a joke about "codeo" being better than "hackaton", but it turns out someone named their AI app that, so ...
Though Norwegian conservative Christians have made feeble attempts at importing the "war on Christmas" identity politics cause, they face an uphill battle in that Norwegians from the beginning merged the celebration with the older Jul and kept the name, so it's much easier to take Christ _out_ of the celebration than it is to claim he's got to be put back.

Turning Point USA is a pro-gun and anti-vax propaganda machine.
Its founders are both dead: Bill Montgomery from Covid and Charlie Kirk from gun violence.
I'm just stating facts.
As part of an effort to fight irony* the #Norwegian #conservatives are running their election campaign** entirely in the format:

I'm seeing fungus/mycelium-based materials in the news again as potentially green alternatives and it's time to remind people that "mushrooms build large underground networks of mycelium" is wrong. Correct* is "the large underground networks of mycelium occasionally grow some mushrooms". Writing the first is like if we couldn't usually see apple trees and wrote that "apples grow large wooden support structures".
