Hello, summer time (DST)! I know it's controversial, but I've always been a fan.
Interesting discussion about the merits and issues that #FSharp has https://www.reddit.com/r/ocaml/comments/m634t8/thoughts_onexperiences_with_f/ As is often the case with hosted languages - .NET is probably it's biggest merit (you get a huge ecosystem) and it's biggest issue (you have to make some compromises, e.g. allow nulls, to fit into the .NET ecosystem).
Applications these days have no respect for a computer's limited resources:
- Chat apps consume 0.5GB RAM (e.g. Messenger)
- IDEs take 5GB of space and consume 4+ GB of RAM (e.g. Rider)
- A VS Code for a tiny F# project eats 1 GB of RAM
And then there's #Emacs which consumes 200MB after 1 month...
I guess most people don't really care about this, as long as they have the resources needed, but it always bothers me.

It's always nice to see such initiatives and I hope it will helpful someone land a dream job in their favorite programming language.

Today I came across ECaml (https://github.com/janestreet/ecaml) - a project that allows you to write #Emacs plugins in #OCaml. While, I don't have any issues with Elisp, I'll definitely check it out at some point. I'm guessing Jane Street are using it for their internal Emacs plugins.
Just noticed that a single person maintains 1200+ npm packages https://www.npmjs.com/~sindresorhus I'm not sure how something like this happens to begin with (I thought it'd be impossible to maintain even a hundred packages), but I guess impossible is nothing. :-)

I'm very pleased with the end result and I'd recommend to everyone using OMZ to think whether they truly need it or not. Config simplicity is the ultimate sophistication!

When showing shell commands in a #markdown file, which language are using for the fenced block?

Everyone seems to be doing something different and I'm curious what's the "right" way. I'm also wondering why markdownlint hates such blocks (with a $), if they don't produce any output. That seems a bit arbitrary to me.

I haven't used it in ages and I'm guessing it's mostly dead these days, but it was one of the first languages that got me really passionate about programming and it will always have a special place in my heart.
Any Helix editor users here? Would you recommend it over (neo)vim? At least in theory the keybindings there seem more logical, and I kind of like the idea of an editor without extensions as I'll waste less time configuring it. :D
CIDER 1.17 ("Cologne") is out! It features much improved handling of Java sources and a few small improvements here and there. (release notes - https://github.com/clojure-emacs/cider/releases/tag/v1.17.0)
