Once I've had a rummage inside (because I'm curious), it's free to anyone in the UK who may also be interested.
It was offloaded on to me by a colleague after a FSOC project I was involved with recently, but this box operates at a much reduced distance and is intended for fixed point-to-point communication only.
I have an old box for Gigabit Ethernet over free space optical (FSO) link.
The model number and company don't appear to exist on the internet, the very-thin documentation (2 sheets) references what appears to be a private residence near Newbury (UK), and is dated 2004 ish. It's heavy metal box is not 19" but eyeball suggests 1U high, and claims to have been built in Russia.
Sadly I don't have the optics part or the counterpart.
Anyone be interested in seeing the insides, possibly in a video?

When Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart came out, I was very (very) tempted to get myself a PlayStation and play it.
I have been very patient (and incredibly overwhelmed with *gestures* life), but in the meantime, it's now available on PC, and on sale on Steam.
I am _incredibly_ tempted to treat myself... thoughts welcome!

I have as few bookmarks to control various outles on the bar at the top. A while ago, I noticed that the browser started sending the request on click (not on release).
I've now realised that the browser will send the request on *hover*, so I don't even need to click the buttons anymore! 😂

Silego greenpak2 development kit and samples. It has a lovely chunky ZIF socket.
I have a feeling(?) that both of these product lines quietly disappeared, but I was really intrigued by them (especially the greenpak stuff). Sadly I never had a play...

There are things I come across, like @katemorley 's lovely 12-bit rainbow palette, which I want to keep around, but my current method appears to be as a tab on my phone's browser (😭).
What do people use to handle bookmarks (no I'm not willing to use the browser's feature), and possibly even some degree of archiving for viewing if they go away at some point?
An app / mobile web UI would be really nice, and self-hosted solution would be shiny!

Beware potatocam... Here's the photo I couldn't resist taking. An Evertz MVP3000 in all its glory(?) - if I remember correctly, this is a magic box that allows you to put lots of different video feeds however you like onto a few large monitors in the broadcast studio - the flexibility was a game changer in its day (instead of lots of small fixed-sized monitors).

The displays used here are one of my most favourite pieces of optoelectronics ever...
I first saw them on some ultra-expensive rack mount studio equipment while I was working on the BBC Egton Wing refit... and many years later made my wife a silly little scrolling message thingy with 2x 8-character modules (HCMS-3977).
They are *expensive* - I got four, for £37.70 EACH, because I just had to have some. They're £42.48 now...
What do we reckon? Gray market, or legitimate?

I just sold a pair of graphics cards (HD 5850 and HD 7770) to someone who was going to use them in "retro builds".
It seems that 2009 (HD 5850 release) and 2012 (HD 7770) were "quite a long time ago", but is 13-16 years really "retro" territory?

"AMT21 Emulator". Well that's not something I expected to spend any time on, but it seems to be working nicely and the ODrive appears to be happy.
It turns out that 1.5 MHz SPI over long wires isn't very reliable(?!) ... another curve ball from this project *sigh* 🙈
For example, timers have this fancy "you can use [CH1 xor CH2 xor CH3] as T1" option ... can I just use an unexposed I/O pin for CH1 / CH2, and drive it low, thus effectively getting CH3 mapped onto T1FP1 for TRGI shenanigans? (🥳)
Does anyone know what happens in an STM32 if the I/O pin has no associated bond or external ball/pad? (I have practial reasons for asking, and I'm curious about other familes too)
Would I be safe to assume it's N/C internally, and could then drive or pull that pin without any concern?
The docs say that pins are analog inputs during and after reset unless otherwise stated - not immediately relevant to me, but is there any power reduction benefit to making these pins a known state?
