"Yen was not happy that Proton was drawing attention to this limitation." That line sums up Proton. They’ve always hidden their limitations behind misleading, aggressive marketing that glosses over everything their products don't protect.

Also: "Proton installed software on workers’ computers that track how much AI code the company is generating", awesome tactic for a privacy company 🙄

if you use any of #proton products, you may know what type of company it is, or so you may think:

Everything that is named after Cesar Chavez should immediately get renamed for Dolores Huerta.

game was invented in 1994, and i’m positive around that time he was indeed the centre of hollywood. in the ‘90s alone, kevin bacon made 23 movies—5 in ‘91 only—with some very heavy hitters like jfk, flatliners, a few good men, apollo 13, balto, and wild things.

(i’m a big fan since footloose and quicksilver, the flicks that made me love dancing and cycling)

The Conversation has an essay title "How should AI be regulated? Follow the harm." On the face of it, 'follow the harm' seems like a good principle, but among the harms listed, theft is conspicuously omitted.

Kyiv. Today. It wasn’t even 10 p.m. Russian ballistic missile struck the grounds of the university I attended. People were injured and killed. I live just a 15-minute drive away...

🔎 FediExplorer Italia: collaudo superato... nostro malgrado! 😂

Nel frattempo FediExplorer Italia continua a lavorare: 179 istanze censite, 26 software differenti e 178 istanze online.

Una sola risulta irraggiungibile. Indovinate quale? 🙄🐘

A lovely essay where @JuliusGoat and Abdul El Sayed (future senator, I hope) expertly lay bare the utter vileness of the fascists who run the U. S.

@CM30 @digichelle

also, it’s usually response time, specifically what is considered “correct” what bothers me. i could think about something for hours that for others—as dutifully informed to me—is correct to think for only minutes. 🫠

@CM30 @digichelle

this is close to how i feel but there is a little more: others don’t consider information that is signal for me. my rationalisation—for me, not proselytising—is not that my brain perceives more but that other brains—usually labeled neurotypical—anesthesise* more signal as background, hence the difference in information management.

More voter intimidation from Trump's personal DOJ.

Trump is also removing 50% tariffs on some Canadian products to help Collins & other Republicans.

They must be awfully worried.

Convo with my mom:

Her: How are you? How is Germany, are there protests there like in the rest of Europe?

Me: No, unfortunately not.

Her: There aren't any here either. They only happen when people can't afford to live.

And this one comment suddenly made me realize how fucking privileged everyone who condemns the "violence" is.

Why does Musk have operational control over any *military grade* version of anything.

That’s not how DOD contracts work.
