There are not enough sci-fi movies that are fundamentally optimistic, and I am so glad we have another. Contact, Arrival, The Martian, and Close Encounters are all very dear to me for this reason, and I am delighted to add to that list. (Interstellar is also good for visuals and music, but not plot)

Got a MacBook Neo last week (as having a Mac is occasionally useful, and my old Mac Mini is basically dead) - and it's a perfectly good laptop. Great build quality, good battery, and barely notice the "low' specs. Only gripe is they need to design for "no touch ID" - like the Windows PIN option.

Learning GDScript as I play around with Godot. I always love understanding a language that is designed very particularly, especially one with Python influences.

Unfortunately, while I got to the hotel quickly, it turns out that the hotel aggregator that my company's travel agency made a hotel booking through took the money but didn't actually make the reservation due to a "system error", and now they are arguing about who pays for it while I wait.
