Very first dr appt in France today. I still don't have my carte vitale so, we'll see how this goes 😵‍💫 (can't wait any longer for the appt bc I need meds things done)

I stg if they put me in front of the CEO I'm gonna tell him exactly what's fucked at the company and I'm not gonna be polite about it. I already randomly had a meeting with his admin because she wanted to know about my move to Paris. I think I put her off by being a weirdo but eh, whatcha gonna do.

No phorge stuff today. Today was a day of tiring and not writing the report I was intending to work on.

Tomorrow I'll write the report. Tomorrow is when it's due.

Then it's the next report. For the C-suite. Which I emphatically do not think is necessary but here we are. Observability is supposed to be a backwater where I can chill. That's why I like it. Well, one reason.

I guess I'll get to meet the CTO though 🤷‍♀️ 🙄

A real thing I said today: I think it'd be pretty funny to have kevlar inside breast implants

Oh no I'm getting the N-year itch and am contemplating switching from arch to a new linux distro.

Pitch me your favorite niche distro.
As much as I appreciate nix, not nix though.

Nor is there explored territory about dfs models that require regular operator involvement as a normal behavior in semi-online operations.

If I'm just a girl who wants shared sometimes file storage that's too big for any specific node, and most nodes spend most of their time offline, then maybe it's fine if a read returns an error until I go unlock it by hand.. since I know for a fact that the other nodes aren't involved anymore because idk I threw one in a volcano in the middle of a write

There's also this whole unexplored territory of tracking how many writers there are and not actually requiring synchronization until two writers want to modify the same object.

I don't want to do my job today. I want to play with my computer and make it do neat things. Also to evaluate yet more disappointing options for distributed filesystems.

Where's my filesystems that track modified and read byte ranges and use those to coordinate fine-grained flushes?

DNSSEC + DANE would have seriously limited the impact here.

Anyway, this is your semi-regular reminder to always, always use HTTPS for your stuff. Yes, even that one. Yes, there's only one exception. Even if you think you have nothing to hide, your visitors or users may. Also, who doesn't want to give a giant middle finger to surveillance capitalism. Because I guarantee you they are sucking up all the unencrypted traffic for targeted ads, even still.

I yearn for the halcyon days when malware and spying was so obvious.

In the end, Bonzai Buddy was a warning.

Did I specifically select a phone number that ends in 69 because it makes me giggle? Why yes, yes I did.

Cant tell if feeling icky because too much caffeine, or because I forgot my meds. Hm.

Where's the feet people at? Never shown off my feet before so I thought y'all might appreciate some feet.

Ahhh je suis tellement fatigué 😮‍💨

My kingdom to be able to export an SVG that switches color palette based on someone's dark mode preferences

The straight agenda has to stop. I keep seeing their perverted displays of attraction in my TV 🫠

Why deal with packet loss by retransmission when you can just send extra

My new idea is. RsTP - Reed-Solomon transport protocol.
