I can’t help but wonder-worry about where all this automated content production (and optimisation) will lead.

Like, if everyone just copies from the top-ranking sites for a topic, they will still end up being invisible? Sure, it’s cheap and it might work in the short term. But in the long run, individuality should win out, right?

And something unique will cost more. And uniqueness alone is no guarantee for success, I see that every day.

I should not use my Sundays for this. It’s bad for me.

Just finished reading “The Devil You Know” by Erin M. Evans and I’m pretty disappointed. At no point did this feel like the final book in the series.

It introduced a whole lot of new things and characters that didn’t really go anywhere. The plot just…ended with a predictable epilogue that felt like a weak attempt at a conclusion.

In general, the novel was plagued by confusing narration like the other books in the series, especially during intense scenes.

I’m at the beginning of a new project which uses responsive font sizing and for the first time since switching from px to rem, I’m wondering if it wouldn’t be nicer to work with em for most things which aren’t a fixed size? 🤔

This way, truly everything would scale with the font size when the window size changes and since the base font size is still calculated using rem, the user’s preference should still be respected.

Does anyone have experience with this? Is it a terrible idea?

Are there any search engines yet which deliberately remove slop from the results? I can’t find anything anymore that doesn’t read like regurgitation when trying to look up knowledge. 🫠

I’m sure a bunch of really smart people are already thinking about this really hard, but I can’t help but wonder where the web is headed now that the content-contract has been broken so thoroughly. 🤔

How can I build things that will make people still want to visit and use them themselves instead of letting their “agents” use them for them?

I know there’s a big community of people here who will do so on principle alone, but sadly it seems we’re very much a minority.

Can I please have flat design back? I just watched the #NothingOS 5.0 reveal and while I do have my fair share of gripes with their design system, it reminded me once more of how sick and tired I am of Liquid Glass.

All these unnecessary highlights everywhere. It’s unbelievable how calming a fully flat UI can be. 😅

Just finished reading “Ashes of the Tyrant” by Erin M. Evans. I’m so many books in by now that the characters have started feeling like old friends. I’m heavily invested in the plot and very curious about how it’ll all be tied up in the next book, which I think is the last.

So maybe I’m used to things by now, but I think this novel was perhaps a little less confusing than the others. Everything felt a little easier to follow.

6/10, better be a Dragonborn fan.
