@mcnado From a purely technical standpoint, it is ludicrous that we do chemical euthanasia on criminals. It's not a medical procedure. Leave the doctors out of it. I understand the whole cruel and unusual argument (and also the Innocence Project etc.) that is not my point. You can kill anyone quickly and easily with any one of several inexpensive, readily available asphyxiants. Anoxia is painless (euphoric even!) certain, and quick. It's insane to me that we are still using drugs.

I just reread the Dragonriders of Pern in a single afternoon, putting down the James Lee Burke book I was in the middle of, and now I have to go back to the bookstore tomorrow to grab subsequent stories. Haven't read it since I was a kid, but damn that was good. Gotta admit I'm a sucker for a story that moves right along.

I don't see why they should have to defend themselves. For my entire life, every municipality I have ever lived in favored Christian holidays to the near-total exclusion of every other religion. In a country that is explicity *not Christian*, and where it is unconstitutional for the state to make any laws favoring one religion over another. It was even true when I was in the military. At *every* workplace. Frankly, I think the Christians are the ones who owe everyone an apology.

The last time the Beatles had a #1 hit was the year I was born. I never appreciated them growing up - "not hard enough." Hated the incessant radio play, the movies, the mysticism, the fact that it was my parent's music.
If pushed I would have said the White Album or Revolver was my "favorite" Beatles album.

Sitting here listening to Sgt. Peppers. I realized I know pretty much every word of every track - and it's a fucking great album.

Can you give me some points to make to Lindsay Wilson, "Donor Relations Specialist" when she replied to my email about not giving WMF any more money until they recognize the union with a description of the legal process they are using to "determine who is eligible to vote" and forcing another vote of "eligible" employees? Because it sounds like a bunch of legalese for "we're doing our best to limit the pool of voters to those who don't want a union."

All the feels going out today for anyone having a mental health moment. The world is petty, judgemental, and mostly unforgiving. It's not your fault. You're going to be fine.

And to anyone I personally may have offended with insensitive or tone deaf remarks - my bad. Sometimes I get deep in my own head and miss cues I should pick up on. Depression has a way of giving me tunnel vision.
