I modified a flattop tape deck with a speed control for manipulating the air traffic control recordings and spent hours compiling those recordings. I bought additional hardware including a mixer that would allow me to preview beats and loops before dropping them into the live mix. I did practice runs at home (some of which showed up on "Hiroc"). I hyped myself up for weeks before finally playing the show and everything went perfectly. 3/5
Talking here about playing live shows brings me back to the Convair "Sigmet" album. It's hard for me to believe that it's been nearly seven years since I played this gig, and just as hard to believe that it's the last time I played live in front of an audience. I spent weeks preparing for this show, working out a system that would allow me to completely improvise the performance on the spot. 2/5

I had written a little speech and had it on my phone because I did not feel confident enough to wing it. And so the moment came as we were all seated in the living room. I pulled up my prepared statement on my phone and stammered my way through, my wife holding my hand, me trying my very best not to cry as anxiety slowly ate a hole through my guts. 3/4
In December of 2023 my then-girlfriend and now wife flew from Alaska to NY to visit. Her Christmas present for me was a completed set of paperwork for my legal name change. She also flew back to be with me when I came out to my 87 year old mother, as she knew I was terrified to have that conversation. So the day came when we drove down to mom’s to have dinner and for me to give her the news. My sister, always supportive, also joined us there. 2/4

Today I determined that I have 118 audio patch cables. I swear that doesn't seem excessive to me at all.
