I would really like to know what people in the #fediverse think the most important single public #infrastructure project is in the United States at this point today as of this post. I would even be fine with your top 2/3. These projects can be in any stage from conceptual/proposed to underway.

I think for the East Coast it’s almost definitely the gateway project. Many other expansions & new services are tied into this being completed. It would also prove that we can still do big things.

Usually what I do when there’s raw meat stuff is I put everything else in the dishwasher and such first and then whatever has the raw meat contact gets washed and the sponge and scrubber get thrown out. this was specifically raw chicken so there’s salmonella and E. coli risk. I love that the kids are experimenting with doing meals on their own, but holy shit not having proper food safety is so fucking dangerous. //

My partner’s one kid has started experimenting and doing stuff in the kitchen after taking culinary classes in school. It’s very awesome - except they handled stuff w/ raw meat in it without washing hands after. Had to wipe down so much stuff & such to clean out the sink and stuff that was in the sink that was definitely contaminated. I’m hoping my partner has a word with them about these things going forward when they choose to do stuff with zero supervision. /1
