My whole life i’ve believed that the straight forward internal monologue of a character in fiction is a narrative convention. Because my own internal monologue is more of a chaotic soup of thoughts ricocheting off each other and fuseing and shattering and colliding, and it’s a constantly churning state that can be barely held in place long enough to occasionally get a sentence out.
But like, ARE there people with straight forward internal monologues? Like it seems implausible but is it real?
