Huh. Never seen this one in English before..

Another finished project was mending this moth eaten merino shirt. I used another mortgage eaten merino shirt that was beyond repair to patch all the holes. I started embroidering the patches as well, but quickly stopped myself, as this shirt is strictly underwear for hiking in cold weather, and no-one is likely to ever see much of it. Better to save my embroidering-mojo for stuff I will actually see 😁

My main Finsh Or Frog Along project is done! It started life as a 100 day project back in February, but it took a bit longer than that 😄. It's my boro inspired shirt. Flannel base with dozens of patches hand stitched in place with running stitch. I finished the inside hems with bits tape and added a little embroidered label. It's made entirely from repurposed and thrifted materials. The texture feels amazing! I'll try to take some better pictures tomorrow.

Edit: about a dozen typos

Helping out with the apple harvest today. 1200 kilos of apples ready for the juice factory.

Win of the day: having IT turn off copilot on my company managed laptop. No more annoying, water and energy gobbling pop-ups about summarising my texts and cleaning up my data! 🎉

Beans are a great crop to grow if you love sorting and categorising stuff 😄 (good to eat, too).

Hopelijk zie ik morgen een heleboel van jullie op de Dam 🙂✊🪧

Right, one slightly wonky sock (carefully photographed to not show the mistakes) done, one to go.

The final phase of the linen chaos quilt! Stitching extra quilt lines with geometrical designs. I started it with the light colour which I like on the neutral side, but which looked too chaotic on the already pretty chaotic chaos side. I switched to blue to see how that looks, and I think it's better, so I'm switching to that.

Trying to find out more about top down center out pants fitting and it really looks like I'm going to have to watch some videos. Ugh.
(No, I'm not getting a subscription to Threads magazine just to read one article)

Please excuse the crappy line of stitching on the inside of the waistband. My sewing machine was done cooperating for the day, and I didn't have the energy to unpick and redo so close to the finish. Maybe some other time, but it's the inside of the top stitching, invisible and not load bearing, so maybe not.

Saturday sewing done! Shorts from some thrift store mystery fabric (aan old curtain, i think, diner kind of polycotton. Probably more poly than cotton) with pockets and waistband lining from an old pillow case. Zip and button recycled from an old pair of jeans. All old, all new.
Pattern is closet cores Morgan jeans, but shortened, with a zipper instead of button closure and deeper pockets.

It's been a while, but project #frankenfabric has entered a new phase. Side a and side b are finished, and nearly the same size. Now I have to put together the middle layer. I have this weird linen double gauze in an ugly colour. I took the extremely ugly dress I made with it apart and are going to attempt putting all the bits and pieces back together in a big rectangle. It should be just about enough fabric for my quilt.

Here's a skirt I made from an old pair of pants. The front looks okay, but the back had an unfortunate wavy edge. It's also shorter on the back when I wear it, which is not a good look on me. I don't know why I made the stitches so tiny, I think this was made on my first, ancient, sewing machine that was giving me trouble (I've since gotten rid of it, which I now regret, being older and wiser). I have another short grin s part of trousers that turned out much better and that I still wear, but this one is clearly an early attempt.
