Folks, it’s time to organize our voice and make sure Dems are ready to lead. We need to organize a clear message that Jeffries needs to go and we want someone who can lead with long-term vision and strategy. There’s a deep bench.

I’m not saying we can convict. But we CAN investigate and present evidence and take two years to make sure people see all the corruption - both related and not related to the war. Voters are angry about corruption AND war AND affordability.

I’m tired of Jeffries.

Our daughter has started taking anxiety meds that she only needs for school days. And the women at the school are equally mean, so our daughter has concluded she can’t trust the adults around her at school … which, she’s probably not wrong. And there’s absolutely no modeling of how to handle and resolve conflict, just blaming them all and telling them to stop and if they get reported one more time, they’ll be suspended - when we have direct evidence that another girl is constantly targeting …

I know we are very focused on how boys are being raised these days, but as I watch my daughter navigate elementary and now middle school, I’m deeply bothered by how badly schools are handling conflict between girls. Our daughter is currently navigating some really bad situations at her school, but the school doesn’t really want to figure out who is bullying who, so they just blame everyone and tell the girls to watch Mean Girls and stop being mean to each other. Meanwhile …

Up early to go take my first #knitting class. I’m both anxious and excited. I learned a bit of crocheting and fell in love with it but have oh so much more to learn. But every pattern I wanted to do was for knitting. And I really want to be able to make socks. So knitting classes it is then … can’t wait!!

How is this news?

I co-teach a class on human-centered design of intelligent and autonomous systems, and I was just sitting marveling at our students today as they work through some really complicated projects with external clients and identify ethical concerns then figure out how to operationalize those concerns into better solutions.

We’ll be ready to bounce back once the jerks are gone.

The only thing I take issue with here is a rather big thing: we should all want to be Minnesota. They’ve shown us how you fight this, how to lean into community and “neighborism” (to use Adam Serwer’s term) as a counter antidote to the fascism and cruelty. “Minnesota” shouldn’t be used in any derogatory manner.

Got an email from someone to set up a meeting with general availability from 7am to 11 pm.

I had to check that last bit twice. This is so unhealthy and a terrible culture to create - for yourself, for your org or institution, and for others like students or employees. Boundaries are important!

Does one really have to spend $25K to install #solar for their home? (That’s the estimate we got - 3200 sf home on 1 acre of super sunny land in NM).

I’m wondering if there’s a more DIY route, but I don’t know how to actually connect the panels to our house system.

Curious comment on human nature that a meme mocking American literacy levels is going around but not anything g about strategies or investments. And btw, those stats include a lot of ESL learners who often seek out educational opportunities once they come here. But adult basic education programs are WOEFULLY underfunded.

So - almost a third of US adults are total a**hats.

Just shy of a third actively fought for democracy by non-violent democratic means.

Over a third stayed home. Many are just disengaged, disaffected, had their votes interfered with (recall bomb threats at voting locations in Georgia), etc. Yes, some couldn’t bring themselves to vote for either candidate (and some regret it) - but that’s a small contingent (which matters when margins are thin).
