Do I know anyone who's got a good source they can search for music stems? Back in 2020 Orla Gartland released legit stems for her song Pretending, they were uploaded for anyone to use in a cover/remix competition. Trouble is she used Google Drive and now that link is deaded. I'd love to get hold of these for educational use. Word up if you can hook a nerd up. Boosts appreciated for reach.

Today being what it is, I want to say it's cool how Cockos handles accessibility. No special events, no grandstanding, just making REAPER better one day at a time, the same way they handle other development. If you want to make music or do anything around audio production with a screen reader, give REAPER and OSARA a shot. You'll only find smart, hard working people on both teams (except for some of the times when I'm around).

Names of controls in the equivalent GoldWave feature would also be interesting to see, maybe I can land on a sort of middle ground.

Who do I know that uses an old ish version of Sound Forge with the good auto-ducker? If that's you, can you make a list or a recording of yourself moving through its controls? I've had requests to try making something similar for REAPER, have got a thing going, but I'd like the controls to feel familiar and I don't have SF here for comparrison.

GitHub/screen reader users, how do you copy a link to a code snippet accessibly? The way I just got it done wasn't that great, and apropos of nothing I'm about 5 seconds away from having a fucking aneurysm. Please tell me there's a nice accessible workflow that I missed.

Do I know anyone who's got a reliable virtual machine with recent Mac OS running on Ryzen CPUs? Performance doesn't need to be great, I'll only spin it up to check where an option is, verify keystrokes are accurate etc. I'm working on a thing where there are too many of those questions to make asking around practical, but last I looked it was stupidly difficult to get this running on Ryzen. If I know anyone who has it going, please get in touch with details of how you did it.

No pressure, all I'm saying is that acquiring a Neo just to verify keystrokes would be utterly ridiculous and I can feel a wreckless feeling brewing...

I've added a fun mode to this that I'm calling Shuffle-o-matic. You pick a trigger note and all selected samples get assigned to it with roulette style playback. It's not truly random (can't do that with RS5K's parameters) but the more samples you throw into the selection pool, the less repetition there is/the more random it feels. Good for folks who want variation, less predictability, some textural sounds that shift over time etc.

I'm putting together a simpler, more accessible script for managing samples in REAPER with RS5K. Aiming to publish a single script without any dependencies, everything stems from a popup menu with keyboard accelerators, a couple of clear prompts covering loads of functionality.

But, I need a name for it. Suggestions welcome. Will shout you out along with all the other people I've ripped off along the way. :P

I need to find a good and accessible (preferably cheap) Rhodes VSTI, something that sounds silky smooth with light touches but can also get pretty grunty with low voicings when you hit those harder. Was using a thing called LoFi Keys but it keeps crashing on load and I'm over it. Whatcha got?

Question for OSARA users who like REAPER's one shot scrub. Now that it's been out in the wild for a while, what are the start and end offsets you like? The factory defaults don't seem intuitive for editing by ear here, so I'm considering baking some sensible catchall settings into OSARA's optimal accessibility prompt.

I need an acoustic guitar VSTI with a specific UX, playing chord shapes with my left hand and controlling individual strums/mutes/knocks etc with my right. I don't need patterns. The nearest thing I have is Sunbird from Acoustic Samples, which sounds good and the right hand stuff is excellent, but its chord engine is too prescriptive, it takes the notes you're holding and goes to shapes guitarists would typically play. Often times I want to override that with a voicing that's not so typical but still playable. Recommendations appreciated. Happy to buy a thing, probably wouldn't do a subscription for this though.

Do you have a pair of portable (perhaps foldable), ideally serviceable on-ear headphones that you travel with and like the sound of? If so, please tell me what you're using. If not, tell me about what you've tried and why they didn't work out.

I've got about 100 bucks US at most for a set to travel with. I prefer wired here, I don't have any fancy DAC or amp and don't want to add anything like that into the equation this time.

Bluetooth existing is fine I guess although it won't get much use. If Bluetooth is onboard, a really important thing for me would be that it goes away automatically when a cable gets connected without any arguments.

Do I know any Windows screen reader users who have a Roland Cloud subscription? Helping someone get going last night, we had to sign in to the Cloud Manager software and I couldn't get OCR to pick up on the sign in button. Did I miss a trick? Would this be a useful addition to ReaHotkey I wonder?

Mac TweeseCake eaters, how do you get TweeseCake to appear in the list of apps that are allowed to use the microphone? This is on a fairly old Mac OS, Ventura I think. Can't send voice messages yet, the record button does nothing, the person I'm trying to help doesn't get any system prompts to allow access and when we went to System Settings, Privacy and Security, Microphone, there's not a button to add an app there, only a list of apps that have requested access. Any advice welcome.

Seeking recommendations for a reliable, accessible platform to host a support/discussion email list/listserv/snapshot of the 90's with around 1000 members. We're with GroupsIO right now but I'm tired of their in-browser inaccessibility. Cheap would be brilliant as my group doesn't directly make money, can pay something for solid service, accessibility and responsive support though.

I probably don't fancy self-hosting this much traffic.

So, I guess the 4/4 post in this thread is a question. Are you interested/excited by the generative version? If so, what am I missing?

I played the drums and bass in this version on keys here, using software instruments, so a totally silent recording setup that I could make at 4AM with a sleeping partner in the same room. I'm not much of a keys player and I don't have absolute pitch or a good enough memory to recall parts note for note, hit for hit, this was just a gut instinct jam-along.

Drums were recorded in two passes, I played the kicks snares and toms first, then overdubbed hats and cymbals. In both cases I did some light tweaking of the MIDI to get a few stray velocities and timing gufties straightened out. 3/4
