I’ve said it before but hoped I’d be wrong. My main worry about #election2024 was that a big % of Americans would simply never vote for a woman, no matter what.

They'd rather let a senile fascist run the country because they just can’t stomach the idea of a woman running it.

Most won’t even admit this to themselves. They'll assure you that they would absolutely vote for "the right woman". But when the possibility becomes less abstract, no actual female candidate is ever good enough for them.

why do I find a Cialis/Viagra ad that tells the user to scan a QR code so funny?
The age group needing the product is probably the least likely to use a QR code.

If you are believing that the genocide in Gaza is Biden's fault listen to what Trump is saying about telling Netanyahu to ignore Biden and keep up the fight.
If Trump gets elected, the only people living between the river and the sea will be Zionists. They're already dividing up the conquered land. Jared has an agreement to build a hotel on the Med.
Consider that if you are not white, he will deport you. He has said he will strip the citizenship from non-native born and get rid of citizenship by birth. He has said you are vermin.

I'll repeat what I put in an answer.
After Bezos' interference was made public, Trump met with Bezos' space company Blue Origin.
Amazon is under investigation for being a monopoly.
Bezos' isn't a coward. He is a Fascist to the core.
Quit giving him an out.

In 1995, when people first started the internet, newspaper circulation was 68M.
By 2007, when tablets first started coming out, it was already down to 50M
in 2015, when TFG announced, it was down to 38M.
in 2020, it was done to 20M
This year, projecting the graph it will be down to 16M.
By 2028, it would have been projected down to under 10M.
Television news has seen very similar drops.
I believe, their actions this year will force the 2028 numbers to 2026 at which print media will not be sustainable.

I just saw an ad for a $75,000 signup bonus for seniors joining the Army.
I didn't follow it, but I actually gave it some thought.
WIth my DSc, I probably would be brought in on basic training/OCS lite that was offered when I really was in. I would still have all my retirements.
I don't think they meant 82 yo.

Dear MAGA
Fahrenheit 451, A Brave New World, and 1984 were meant as warnings...not instruction manuals.

The funny thing about this cloud seeding shit. It shows how dumb the right really is.
If you seed a cloud, it dumps the water out of it. If you dump the water out of it, the storm dies.
Believe me, if we could see a hurricane enough to make a difference, we definitely be seeding them out over open ocean long before they hit dry land.

I think that after a few more years of three or four Helene or Sandy a year, we are going to see an exodus from the eastern and southern coastal states...long before sea level rise.
I expect that it will be the loss of jobs because insurance costs and storm related outages will be the driver.
Low margin insurances will pull out of the states affected by Helene. So, insurance costs will go through the roof.
People moving out because of growing tired of rebuilding and no longer being able to own homeowner's insurance will be a close second.

Polls this year are pretty much garbage.

Phone polls are flawed because less than 14% answer an unknown or unidentified number. Pew research claims 67% let such a call go to voice mail. The Pew number, based on my experience, reflects how inaccurate phone polling is. I'm 82 and the only people I know who answer a number they do not know have dementia.
Polls adjust their answers according to the demographics of the region in the last election. For example, if it is 15% minorities of a certain class and they have 10% in their statistics of who voted the area during the last election, then they take 2/3 of their numbers.
Now, this becomes problematic. Because they say their margin of error is, say +/-4%. This means they have results for 625 people.
But, that minority has an error of +/- 10%.
Now, let us assume that registration is up 276% for that class and the average for all other classes is up 70%. Then, they should have taken three times the original minorities number. 1/

Probably the most unique campaign ad that I have ever seen:

Inflation is not a failure of capitalism. It is required for it to work. The core of capitalism is ever increasing profits. When you repress wages as far as you can without fomenting revolution and automate to the fullest extent you can, the only way to increase profits is to increase your prices.
INFLATION IS REQUIRED FOR CAPITALISM TO EXIST.
Keeping inflation under control is only accomplished by forcing a punitive tax system that forces corporations to accept lower profits.
Currently, the only tool in our arsenal is to manipulate interest rates.
We need a tax law that increases the corporate tax rate by the CPI.

So, some professional in personal security this morning on Ana Cabrera was asking how the perp knew Trump's schedule. What is the security slip that let that out?
Since this is not publicly released, the question is, who at Mar-A-Lago released the information?
What is it they say, motive, opportunity, means?
The FBI will be searching his phone. If it was a phone call or text, then they'll have a co-conspirator in this...unless he bought a burner phone at a gas station and then threw it out the window when he fled the scene.

Message to TFG, Couch Vance, and the rest of the GOP.

If Trump's stunts with the election boards are upsetting you. Put your money where your mouth is and help these guys

For those who weren't in the Military. This is what makes Vance's faux outrage so grievous.
Walz was a Command Sergeant Major. This guy will be even less of a combatant than a public affairs clerk (Vance). He is there to serve as a go-between between the CO and the NCOs. That's it. If he didn't show up, another senior NCO steps in his place. That's it.
Now, as far as putting anyone in harms way because he drops out, it actually means, someone is taken out of harms way.
Now on to an additional point. The timeline does not support the narrative. Walz retired BEFORE his unit received the call up notice.
Now one more thing, the video. There are dozens, if not hundreds of videos, of Walz giving the same pitch against assault weapons where he does not utter, "in war" in other videos, the word order is such that it says those weapons ONLY belong in war. Which is a paraphrase of Reagan.

On Monday, the Scottish NHS are going to revoke the right of trans people in Scotland to self-refer to their gender identity service. They will have to convince a GP to refer them.

No clinical reason has been given. No trans people have apparently been consulted. We only know because this information was leaked ahead of time.

If you’re thinking of a referral to a Scottish GIC, do so TODAY.

There's going to be a connection between Walz and the Heartland. Dems need to keep him stumping there. Between the seven million new women voters and the electricity Walz can elect in rural America, IMHO 50 states are in play.

To show how much things have changed, they are calling the almost 60 yo candidate...young.
I remember how upset I got when I was 60 and the Trib had the story "Elderly Woman Hit by METRA" ...she was 60.

Just realised that on Mastodon, boosting *is* the algorithm.

There's no code trying to cleverly show me stuff it reckons I'd be into, based on what my contacts are into, instead my contacts are saying "I like this, I bet my contacts would like it too" and that is way smarter than any algorithm.

Thank you, boosters!
