"but three people tried out the new clothes! They liked them"
Oh, and was at least one of those three people our one woman or our little half-scale man?
"well I can't ask everyone to try out any new clothes now can I?"
...
No, indeed you can't.

#work Some of our technicians got new work-clothes. The versions for the one woman and the one very slim guy have fake pockets. The person who bought them thought that looked better.
As Einstein said: We might not know what weapons will be used in WW3 but it's a near certainty women will not be able to carry those weapons in their pockets. CAUSE THEY WILL HAVE NO FUCKING POCKETS.
ffs.
edit: at least those sticks & stones for WW4 are handheld.

Whenever people promote the Fediverse they usually start with the philosophy of the technical side. And then go on to define it by what it is not.
That's fine. And for many that's how they came here. But is that really why most of us stay here?
For me the main feature of the Fediverse is simply that it offers me a lot of friendly, interesting and curious people that I enjoy interacting with.
I have 1495 #BahnBonus status points and need 1500 for a "Silver status". Unfortunately a large chunk will expire on Wednesday and I do not plan to take any German trains before then. Considering the upgrade comes with real perks I'll figure it's best to just book a seat on a random train..
Anyone in need of a seat reservation?
*I'll just make it in my name, and you'll sit down knowing I won't be there to shush you away.
edit: actually have 1490 points. So two reservations!
I really don't understand what estate agents try to do when they use "digital enhancements" (now made easier with ai tools) to massively misrepresent a property on photos.
Like, a fish-eye lens is fine but "fixing" rotten window frames just makes it a different building. And while I might be convinced to visit (and then instantly have arguments about the asking price) I will from that moment be extremely skeptical to any other properties from the same estate agent.
Do you love trains and hate busses? Maybe your house should be a train station. Like this one in Danish Lunderskov, with excellent national and international connections.
Bring money though. Juliette and I visited and it's in less good a state than the (digitally enhanced?) photos suggest.
Making smalltalk with a fellow train passenger we came to the topic of "What, if any, physical item in your house will you change if your partner dies?".
For me it's duvet covers with zippers. I don't mind the buttoned ones as long as I'm not the one changing them, but OMG are they annoying.
For my fellow passenger it's the TV (she wants a curved one, partner hates those) and kitchen chairs (bought many years ago, she doesn't care for them, he does).
How about you?
PSA if you're ever stuck in a cherry picker: there's always a way to lower it manually :-)
RE: https://mastodon.online/@Pepijn/117409708478741853
How not do to customer service: you get a call at 8:06 telling you two persons are stuck high up in the air in your cherry picker and can you assist. You enthusiastically say yes, I'll check and call you back very soon.
You call back four hours later at 12:11 and act surprised we're a bit annoyed..
So the train wasn't allowed to enter Germany (literal words of the drivers) and I'm now in a bus.
At least being stuck in a cherry picker I still had hopes of arriving home before our hobbit goes to bed. With the stupid bus I'm guaranteed to miss all my connections and be home at the minimum two hours late.
Well that's new. Nearly missed my train as I was stuck in a cherry picker 18 meters above the ground.
I suspect passengers rights would've been somewhat limited.. :-)
Video is from the first seconds. It became much more intense after I secured my phone. I was wearing safety clothes (pants, jacket) but still got soaked.
A guy in a (dry) car passed a minute later and stopped to check.
According to him the cloud that slowly moved right over me formed a little rotating "snout" maybe some 100 meters before crossing the road. It went to the ground for a minute or so, and then just dissipated.
Super cool :-)

Got caught in something cool while cycling to my hotel. A grayish cloud moved in fast, blocking the blue sky. The wind very rapidly picked up from leaves not moving to branches shaking, dry air became a drizzle became horizontal rain. Within half a minute it got notably darker and then all of a sudden water and wind came raging from everywhere. It was LOUD!
About a minute later it all slowed down, and soon I had blue sky and dry air again.

Overheard (impossible to miss) at breakfast: "you think that asshole project manager from [company] is also at the site?"
[from the other side of the room]
"Yes I will be. Are you aware there's just one hotel in this town? Interesting to hear you still don't like me after I was so lenient when you fucked up."
(all in Dutch, which is an excellent language for this type of stuff)
PM sounds fun. I'll get to the gossip of this if I see him again.
Look at that! It exists! A bit late (both eight minutes and 4000 days) but at least it's not a bus :-)
I helped him buy a ticket via Rejsebillet, the slightly more expensive option. While helping I noticed he actually had the travel app (Rejseplan) installed and probably was doing a power play of some sorts.
We're now at a couple minutes delay (it's ok, my connecting DSB train also has it) due to this fuckery ánd the random "requests stops" we now had four times where no-one got off.
Haha :-) Waiting for the bus a rental car stopped to drop off an American tourist.
As we boarded he tried to pay with his Mastercard. And despite Denmark having multiple ways of paying for the bus, a "cash transaction by creditcard" is not a thing.
For about two minutes he kept insisting it IS though. Using his voice activated AI app to "show" the driver.
The driver went all "no habblo englishol" and told him "sit, download app, or leave".
:-)
Ah. @venite informed me the choices in this show have been unraveling the otherwise close-knit fiber arts community one dropped stitch at a time. It's a real knot.
Question for ya'll in the international fibercraft community.
We've been watching a TV show called "Game of Wool - Britain's Best Knitter". Episodes include both traditional knitting and crochet tasks.*
What do you think of this?
*there's also a lot of good sheep footage. Yesterday they crafted an outfit for dogs but what I really hope for is a challenge crafting a Sci-fi inspired outfit for sheep.
