Stop trying to upgrade disabled people's body when the problem is your design!
@WeirdWriter argues that the tech industry needs to stop trying to sell useless expensive gadgets no disabled person wants, or can afford, and start fixing actual accessibility barriers, like bad code, and poorly designed infrastructures.

This hurts, because, it's true: "Silicon Valley will spend millions developing a glove that translates sign language into speech (badly), but they won't spend ten minutes adding Alt-Text to their images. They will build a headset that describes the room to me (poorly), but they won't use semantic HTML headings so I can actually navigate a webpage."

I created a thing because I'm tired of having to look this stuff up every time I open an editor on a new machine or new install. I always end up fighting with it instead of just trying to find the setting, because it's always called something different ("close braces", "brace completion", "insert closing ] } )", etc.")

Now I have a place to look it up every time, with an easy to remember URL!

#Framework battery nooooooooooooo

At least it's easy to replace, and the laptop works off the charger without the battery installed.

(Framework 16, for the curious.)

Alright. Last art for #PrideMonth . I drew the #Poly throuple again, relaxing after an exhausting #Pride , watching a certain classic.

Just lineart this time.

#Art #MastoArt #LGBTQ #Yuri #RobotGirl

Art stream doodles of that #Lancer character again.

Daisy, the sentient COMP/CON and her SEKHMET-class NHP copilot.

(Don't let the fairy fool you with her sweetness. She craves violence.)

Drew some more #Art for #PrideMonth !

It's the puppygirl's first pride.

Happy Pride Month to everyone else who's celebrating for the first time, too. ❤️

Fun #GIF facts learned while writing the GIF loader for #Godot...

- The GIF 89a spec only uses the word "animation" or any other form of it twice, in the part where it says... "Animation - The Graphics Interchange Format is not intended as a platform for animation, even though it can be done in a limited way."

- GIFs can support more than 256 colors. While a GIF palette can only go up to 256 colors, each sub-image can have its own palette which, combined with other sub-images, can result in a final image with more than 256 colors.

- GIFs have a "user input flag" on graphic control extensions for sub-images, meaning that animated GIFs can actually wait for user input before advancing to the next frame. To my knowledge, modern decoders ignore this.

- The GIF 89a spec has a section for text rendering. There is an entire "plain text extension" that remains unimplemented on most modern decoders. So far I can only find one GIF that uses this (along with the user input flag), and one very old decoder for DOS that supports it. This is not related to GIF comment extensions.

- The "loop" count is a nonstandard Netscape 2.0 extension, implemented as an "application extension". GIFs otherwise are not expected to loop.

- The initial GIF version was invented in 1987, but "the web" was invented in 89, meaning the format was likely never intended to be used in web pages.

My instance got hit by the recent #Peertube vulnerability. I think I've cleaned up the mess, and haven't lost anything or suffered any significant damage, but that was a close call.

If you have a Peertube instance, make sure you update!

Blegh.

Happy #MerMay again!

Went back and drew these two again.

Happy #MerMay again!

This one is... uh... *mildly* spicy? I'm going to make a judgment call and still post it on main.

A cecaelia counts as a mermaid for MerMay purposes.

Yup. We're going with that.

This was fun to draw, but I'm bad at drawing under-water scenes. Gotta work on that.

Update: I've managed to move everything to a new bucket and obscured it behind a proxy I can use to ban and throttle their asses if they ever try it again, which I'm sure they will.

VoDs should be viewable again.

Anyway, all the videos on my #Peertube instance are going to be broken until I get this sorted out.

I've had to temporarily disable access to the S3 backend for my #Peertube instance I use for VoDs again because another bot scraper found it and started downloading everything over and over again. It's got about 3.1 TB of content on it. It had about 4 TB of transfer on it this morning, and then by the time I turned it off it was up to about 5.99 TB of transfer before I turned it off.

Which is wild considering the videos only have a small handful of views on each one of them.

If some asshole is going to going to abusively scrape all my content, could they at least download it *once* and then keep it around for their shitty slop-machine training, instead of running up my bandwidth bill continuously?

Sheesh.

I drew more stuff.

Happy #MerMay !

Morning sketchies!

Yeah it's #yuri again.

Last bit of art for #LesbianVisibiltyWeek .

@JunkRaven is not having a good time being too visible.

After drawing yuri all week I felt like finishing it off with something silly.

#Art #MastoArt #Lesbian #Lancer #LancerRPG

To be clear, I will continue draw yuri regardless of legal obligation.
