Had a dream last night that I was at a harbour where a bunch of those weird-looking goblin sharks were headbutting all the ships. People had to help push them out to sea with bargepoles. I fell in, which seemed disastrous initially, but the sharks were entirely occupied with the ships so I just climbed out again.

A while back I joked that I had an idea for a fantasy novel involving witches and wizards in a setting where the dark lords are effectively running tech companies and the wands and spellbooks they sell are constantly snooping on people.

I didn't expect it to actually go anywhere, but I've now got the first couple of chapters. Is anybody interested in getting an early look?

How come there are so many awful AI mockups of Meshtastic devices? I'm following the hashtag and see one of these every few days. I wouldn't have thought that people interested in a decentralised network would be big on AI in the first place, but on top of that I don't understand why anyone would get as far as posting about a product with nothing to photograph. Are there CEOs on Mastodon who can be suckered into investing in these things?

I first heard of Afroman through the cops' unsuccessful defamation suit, and looked up Lemon Pound Cake expecting it to be something scathing and angry. Instead it's an incredibly mild response to a bunch of armed men kicking down this guy's door.

I've been meaning to play Doom: The Galley Experience for about a year now. You'd think it wouldn't hold up to that kind of wait, but it does. Wander around a gallery as Cultured Doomguy, collecting hors d'oeuvres and periodically clicking to sip from your glass of wine as you enjoy the art.

I'm really quite happy with this. Characters now respond to "ask X about themselves" etc., but will distinguish between "himself" and "herself." It's a small detail, but I think it helps conversation feel more natural and avoids situations where a straightforward "ask" command with an existing response simply generates "There is no reply."
