Ok might be last update on the painting today. I did the final boat, now tomorrow I need to add 3 people and paint the beach properly. Also need to make sure things are level. Work still in progress.

I will extend the shadow of that boat on the right out a bit more to the left.

Most of the next boat on the right added. I’ve made the classic mistake in oils of trying to paint dark over light when I should have gone the other way! BUT it is working out ok. Another boat or two to do. Work in progress.

I will be painting this weekend however. I have an oil painting to finish, I need to add a few more boats and a person. Also a beach to paint.

Someone said “why are you writing a book? People with AI will come along and make writing books worthless.” And I say, im not writing for the money, but who cares. What the world needs is MORE human authors not less.

Anyway on with the writing.

If youre interested, writing mostly text on an old iPad Pro circa 2020 with a clapped out keyboard. It will end up on my laptop eventually where everything is pulled together. I hate writing on the laptop because it is old and the keyboard gets too hot then all I can think of is the heat against my palms and fingers.

And NO AI is used for any of the production, research and writing of these book

Anyway, the first book is a collection of short stories on a similar theme and are all either magical realism or speculative fiction.

Second book is a fantasy style book with modern and Old English folklore themes and is v dark. A not funny book

Third book is a comedy (in the Shakespearean or Cervantes sense?) of two trans women who want to make a film of their lives and has funny dialogue but is also dark humour. Does the film get made? Can they stay alive in Burnham’s Britain?

Working on two paintings and three books at the same time probably seems like overreach to some, but for the way my brain works it makes perfect sense. In fact if I worked on just one thing I would get bored and wander off and forget to come back to it.

For the books, my brain knows how to switch and keeps each one in their own “channel”. Same as for the paintings, I don’t suddenly get confused and start painting things in the wrong painting.

Perhaps everyone does this though. I don’t know.
