Gee, I wonder why housing costs so much:

Land is sold for a profit.
The building is constructed and everything used if sold for a profit
The building itself is sold for a profit
- by people who base their pay on the amount they can get out of the purchaser. Then, the place is sold again repeating the pressure to sell it for as much as possible.

The only interruption of this system I've experienced are the "land banks" a municipality will occasionally use to control expansion costs and geography. Buy I've not seen any for decades.

Gotta love the media reports about foreign interference in the Alberta secessionist movement. They cite Russia and China and ignore the US administration that offered $500B to help an independent Alberta …

I am struck by the similarities between PM Carney and his Governor General appointment. Both have extensive experience in Canada, Europe and the UN. Both have well developed networks and respect world wide. GG Arbour has intimate knowledge of the Law of Canada especially the Constitution. She understands her roles legal boundaries far better than Antone else in that role.

Gotta love the Alberta government. They de-emphasize vaccinations. Start to charge most who want the vaccine $100 per dose. Then include paying for the shot as part of a contract settlement for teachers adding it to a wage increase already turned down by the teachers.
This government must think teachers are as dumb as the UCP cabinet …

Without that duty, Canadian imports cost them ~ US $.70/dollar.

Our economy cannot compete even with a 13 cent per dollar advantage? We need an advantage of 30 cents per dollar…

Canadian business must really suck relative to those in the US.

Not only that but the low C$ drives consumers to "buy local".
