I am making a note here, great success! (so far)

After numerous attempts, multiple USB sticks, ISO's, IMG's, USB ports, including memtest, and UEFI/BIOS settings I have managed to start the #NetBSD installation and setup.

WiFi works already, disks recognized, and now to figure out what all these things mean :blobcatderpy:

Special thanks for @nina_kali_nina for the encouragement. I'll try not to ask too many beginner questions :netbsd: :ablobcathappypaws:

Goodnight Fedi :lblue_heart:

Goodnight Fedi!

I am going to try and get some sleep, feel free to keep the positivity thread going. I'll do my best to reply tomorrow morning again - or later on if I can't sleep.

Thank you again to everyone whom shared and joined in :lblue_heart: And thank you in advance for everyone joining later on!

Much appreciated :ablobcathappypaws:

Right, after all that I could really use some cute, happy posts flooding the timeline.

Cats, kittens, puppies, doggos, furries, flowers, moss, lichen, all things happy and great and lovely

Or share a little fun and positive thing you recently experienced or did.

So, I'll start.

I am enjoying the quilt my late mom made me. Nice, warm, and very comfortable on the couch :lblue_heart:

So today I tried to install BSD on an old laptop, and so far no go.

Now mind you, this isn't the fault of the BSD variants I tried. The laptop is a Samsung (yeah they also make/made laptops) and even finding anything other then Windows info about it is a challenge.

That said, that just means I am missing something. Perhaps a setting in UEFI/BIOS, or my lack of familiarity with BSD.

Today also was a low spoon day. So, for now, I put this on pause.

For now

(Cheesy impersonator)
I'll be back

Goodnight Fedi :lblue_heart:

Some days you are the statue

Others you are the pigeon

@stux ola!

Goodnight Fedi.

When we say try to be kind to people, that absolutely includes yourself.

@afewbugs

There is a new update for our phone :)

I'll let you know if the dreaded rotate button can finally be removed (at least, probably not from the release notes AFAICT so I am not holding my breath)

Good night Fedi

Tell someone you know that you care about them, and appreciate them being part of your life.

And if you can't think of someone to say that to, please look in the mirror and say that to yourself and mean it :lblue_heart:

:ablobcatwave:

Good night Fedi friends.

Tomorrow is Friday. Make it a good one.

Well this is fun. Tried to swallow a sip of tea, had to cough, and wound twitching my lower back muscles the wrong way.

I'm doing and feeling OK, and can still move around so it's doable. But this is the second time in about a month. Ughhh. Time to get in touch with the doctor I suppose.

So how is your weekend going? :blob_grinning_sweat:

@cR0w @zombie042

Fair enough. I still would, but I'd then use some of that money to hire a bunch of monkeys to flung poop at some of the companies pulling stunts

These monkeys would have an union as well, so all fair pay and hours. Finest gourmet food for them, with lots and lots of fiber. To add further insult to said company and their employees. "A bunch of shit hurling monkeys get better pay and benefits than you do"

Simple pleasures in life you know?

Heya,

Just a heads-up I guess - I may (likely) at times say stupid things. Maybe even some that feel a bit odd or even hurtful. I (generally) don't mean anything by it but if anything does offend, please do let me know (or block/mute me)

I'm genuinely trying my best - but I am a product of my environment and history. Not that that excuses anything, but for context sake I figured I'd mention it.

Not that something was mentioned, and maybe I am just imaging things.

But I needed this out there

So, since this is a new/migrated account I guess I'll (re)introduce myself.

Hi.

That is it, introductions done. On to the usual antics. Any questions, feel free to ask.

But seriously, 44 at time of posting, living in the Netherlands, work in IT for an University. Officially ADHD diagnosed, slowly realizing I *may* also be on the spectrum. Also have IBS, Celiac (FODMAP), agoraphobic. Gotta catch em all!

I like weird stuff and I will info-dump at times (sorry in advance)

OK bye! Or hi!
