Oh! In case it's not obvious: I'd like fresh reviews on my Halloween audiobooks this month because a bunch of good reviews at once triggers the recommendation algorithms on Audible and Amazon to make the books more visible to buyers. Timely reviews help new listeners find the audiobooks I've narrated.

If you are interested in reviewing any of my audiobooks, and especially my Halloween audiobooks in November, it's a great way to support me and the lovely authors I narrate for. 💋

I would love to get some fresh reviews on my spooky, spicy audiobooks in October!

If you like high heat audiobooks and you buy and review mine, I am grateful from the bottom of my heart.

But! If you aren't in a place to buy audiobooks at the moment & you'd be up for writing a supportive review, I would gladly give you a free review copy! If you're low on spoons and you'd like a free copy in exchange for (kindly) just adding a starred review, that's still a big help.

Pick one or more books from the linked post below, and let me know which titles you want, and if a US Audible or UK Audible review copy (my only options) works best for you.

*If you listen to a free review copy and absolutely hate the audiobook or DNF, that's okay: please don't give it an awful review, just skip the review completely.

If you like this idea and you're not sure where to start, The Cauldron is a fun little romp that's probably most accessible and enjoyable for people who aren't into the specific kinks that the author caters to. I'd recommend starting there.

I know that a lot of people on Fedi will hesitate when creators give things away for free, thinking "someone else needs it more than I do", but please don't feel that way. Instead, please let me have the joy of giving out some Halloween treats this month and boost visibility and sales for my authors at the same time.

If you like high heat Halloween stories but audiobooks aren't your thing, the books are also available as ebooks on Amazon too!

Questions? Let me know.

Happy Halloween!

Who are the newscasters (of any gender, in any language, from an era) with the sexiest voices?

I'm asking for a creative project and I would love your recommendations.

Bonus points if you can include a link to an audio or video example!

This reminds me of the time I wound up on a glorious phone call with a (male) friend where we discussed Shakespeare for hours and hours.

Did a wild crush ensue? I can only speak for myself, but it sure did from my side.

I've been reading about Vanessa Redgrave and I'm not going to lie...

...this would very likely work on me, too.

Gentle reminder that shaming people for the size of their genitals and stigmatizing smaller penises is punching down.

Plus, doing it anywhere is bad but here on Fedi, where so many of your friends and neighbours are trans, non binary and intersex? Come on.

You probably grew up in an environment where size shaming and stigma were normalized and no one ever questioned that status quo around you.

That's okay. You can choose to do better starting today.

Hats off to everyone who shows up and puts in the work to flirt in a second language.

Your generosity and effort are what keeps international romance alive and well!

I was chatting with a recent mail acquaintance and when I told him that I have narrated erotica and romance audiobooks, he said, "I knew it! I knew it as soon as I heard your voice."

Would I make a major life decision that affects both me and another person simply to spite my mother? No, of course not.

But would it be a bonus? Well, yes. Obviously. Hahahahaha

I'm sorry but that kind of edict for me is like a red flag to a bull.

My mom once volunteered that I should absolutely not marry a younger man because it would "be disgusting" and I would "ruin his life".

So, um , do I now have a mission in life? Kind of. 😅

A dear friend (male) told me they are getting flack about an age gap romance (where they are the older partner)...

...and it's much less scandalous when compared to compared the age differences in my relationship history.

I know there are power dynamics and social norms at play here but people, please: love who you love. And do not give a damn about what other people say or think.

The world is on fire. If not now then when?

Background to the question:

As an audiobook narrator, I do what's referred to in the business as "fully characterized narration", meaning I design and perform different voices for every single character of all genders. If you'd like to hear my audiobook work, I'll include a link below; I won an award for "Lockdown and Dirty", which is narrated in the first person by the male lead, and the (male) author sought me out to narrate it because he was impressed with my voices for male characters. His wife is an audiobook librarian and they are both big audiobook fans, so I took that invitation as a great complement, as well as the success of the audiobook.

As a singer, actor, voice actor, and audiobook narrator, I have been fascinated by voices, voice production and the gendering of voices for a long time.

While I am not currently taking new audiobook contracts, I maintain my interest in voices and the intersection of voice and gender. I'd really love to learn from the many knowledgeable people on Fedi.

I wish for gender euphoria in the production of your voice (or voices!) for everyone. ❤️ 2/2

A question for trans people (of all genders) on Fedi: whether you worked on your own or with a voice coach, when you were exploring how to perform gender with your voice, what were the theory, techniques and exercises that helped you?

Do you make a distinction between the terms "ethical non-monogamy" and "polyamory" (especially from inside those worlds)?

If yes, what is the difference to you?

#ENM #EthicalNonMonogamy #Polyam #Polyamory #Dating #Relationships

I have a question for my audiobook listeners (and I know that a few of you are on Fedi):

When people ask me which of my audiobooks they should start with (without any other clues), which book would *you* recommend?

If you have suggestions, I'd love toe hear them. 💋

I'm watching a time travel / past life / alternate timeline story (I'm being fuzzy on identifying details because I don't want to spoil it for anyone), and I've finally hit the beat where the female lead explains to the male romantic lead why she knows what she knows...

...AND HE BELIEVES HER. 🔥

This is truly one of my favourite tropes and one of the hottest scifi/fantasy + romance tropes of all time.

Is this because women and other marginalized people are so rarely believed and supported by cis men / members of dominant cultural groups? Yes, it is: we are hungry to be seen and believed.

Want to knock the socks off of marginalized people (or at least this girl)? Listen to us, believe us, and trust our authority and expertise regarding our lived experiences (vs mansplaining, gaslighting, ignoring, etc.)

This is truly top tier hotness and sexiness. 💋

*If you want to share your recommendations for stories with these kinds of dynamics in the mentions, please put them under a CW so there are no spoilers for people who want to leave that as a surprise. Ta! 😘

Before someone comes at me, yes, I am aware that Amazon is evil. As a narrator, I am hired by authors; they choose where they sell their books and I have no say.

I am also paid very little on royalty share contracts. The books are already on Amazon; Amazon Affiliates let me earn literally a few more pennies per sale.

Or rather it used to. Now it won't.

People ask why I no longer narrate auiobooks. Amazon has unilaterally removed more than 1/3 of my audiobook catalogue without payment to me or the authors, breaking the contracts I was hired through as a narrator. They (i.e., ACX) are unilaterally changing contract terms this year and authors who don't agree will have their audiobooks deleted (narrators have no say). Now this. *shrug*

I started narrating in the first months of the pandemic so I could work safely from home. I loved the work, and I love my authors and listeners. But Amazon changes the rules and moves the goalposts all the time. The little guys have no recourse at all.

I am no longer taking new audiobook narration work because this field is a nightmare.

Pre-Emptive Edit before reply guys find this thread: I am not soliciting and do not want "advice". I will block you if you try. Thank you for reading comprehension, sweeties.

I received this notice from Amazon today about my Amazon Affiliates account:

> We are reaching out to inform you about your Amazon Associates account's closure.

> ...Because you are non compliant, Amazon will not pay you any outstanding commission income. Please be aware that any other related accounts may be closed without payment of any commission income. Amazon reserves all other rights and claims.

> If you had configured this store ID to earn globally, we have closed your store ID in all those countries as well.

> The violation(s) include the following:
- Your website/app/social media account does not qualify for inclusion in our program because the content promotes graphic sexual images and/or sexually graphic banner advertisements. Content of such nature constitutes disqualification as it is in violation of our Program Policies.

. . .

If you follow me or check out my feed, the "graphic sexual images" I post are A) the covers of audiobooks for sale on Amazon, and B) vintage 1950s pin-up art. What a bad girl am I.

Anyway, the email includes a link to a form to appeal the decision. I filled it out -- twice. Both times, the form returned a page of error messages; the message does not seem to have gone through and there are no alternate contact methods.

If you are a romance or erotica author or narrator, be forewarned.

Support the small indie creators you care about, friends. We are in such tough spots.

A friend once pointed out to me that a man looks at a woman when he's about to kiss her the same way he looks at a hamburger when he's working out where to bite it and once you know that you can't unsee it.

You're welcome.
