Welp, it got warm enough for me to dig out my great-grandparents old Emerson floor fan. On the medallion on the front it says, "Emerson Motors, Built To Last" with an image of a pyramid in the background. It has a little oil cup with a spring load lid on the back for keeping the motor lubed. The only thing that has been changed is the cord. When I was a kid, I got cut while trying to move the fan. I still have the scar on my thumb from that encounter.
I wish it were possible to have an outdoor cat that could successfully hunt rodents but would leave birds alone. And wasn’t likely to get eaten by larger predators around.
