Local (and federal) law enforcement routinely arrests individuals accused of extremely violent crimes, some of whom are involved with gangs, organized crime, and other dangerous criminal enterprises. But these officers almost never wear masks or take other steps to conceal their identities, despite the possibility that some of their targets might retaliate against them personally.

Why is ICE/CBP, which deals mostly with people accused of civil immigration offenses, the exception to this?
