The "joke" stopped being funny as soon as people started legitimately calling it a slur. A derogatory term for an LLM is one thing, but when it becomes "haha I can actually say a slur because they aren't real!" you gotta wonder why so many people seem to really enjoy doing that

Stop saying "wireback". It's just a play on a real, actual slur for Hispanics. It doesn't matter that there aren't sentient robots; there are plenty of people out there who would get called w**back as-is and I'm sure very few of them appreciate the tongue-in-cheek variant for "robots". The "robot slur" "joke" isn't funny when you're just modifying real slurs for real marginalized people.

Except maybe trans people making stories about being transformed into a different gender and coming to the conclusion that this is better. But those are also relatively rare.

If a piece of media starts with getting transformed by some curse and ends with declining the opportunity to return to normal, you know it was made by furries. No one else seems to "get" that maybe it's not always a bad thing.
