Hot take: overlapping windows from multiple apps are actually a bad UI and despite 40 years of work no one's really made it not suck.

All your snap functionality, zoom out to see them all and that stuff are just hacks that don't in the end fix the problem.

starting my device driver source files with `/* NEW DRIVER PLEASE BE PATIENT */`

I’m not sure I can actually explain how disappointing OpenAI's first hardware thingy is.

This is just a keypad with some swappable, backlit keys. These things are commonplace in stores like MicroCenter and have been for years.

You'd have to be a young adult male to even think this is neat, let alone worthy of representing what your company (OpenAI) can accomplish.

I'm flabbergasted.

They literally say it's useful as fidget toy.

…Okay?

PSA: it appears to be impossible under current MacOS to read any older bootable CD/DVD-ROM. It is because these are HFS and MacOS doesn't read HFS anymore.

So I can't read my Starmax system CD.

Also you can't read the Quake 3 Arena disc because it's HFS I guess.

You can image them and maybe there's a standalone program for MacOS linux that can read them. David Shayer, help me!

I keep seeing people say they think Macbook Neo is great but there should be a 16GB version for companies so they can get them proper entry-level laptops.

Even if 16GB is a must, I think people are missing that companies can just buy Airs if they need 16GB. Airs aren't $600, they are $1100. But a companiy spends conservatively $80,000 employing you for a year, they can spend an extra $500 on getting you a laptop.

The Neo is great, but it's also an upsell initiator.

I suggest we vote off the island USB-C chargers with text so small and lightly printed you can't read it.

Apple, what have you wrought?

Can we just have them put on a QR code?

This text is so small and light that even iPhone magnifier app cannot read it. Although I can guess it out from their contrast enhanced snaps.

Could Apple add an OS setting "I for all time and forever wish my windows to display what is in them and not what is *behind them*" which I can just set and be done with every UI "disrupter's" idea that what I really want to see in windows is what they are covering up?

(Yes, I have reduce transparency on but it is ugly for controls, what I really need it for is windows.)

Wallet on iOS 26 on my phone hides everything in the top of the screen. The battery level. Whether you are on wifi. The time.

Why is this a good thing? Apple, what is wrong with you? Why is black there better than me actually seeing the time and battery level?

From Novartis:

'Your body, blood, and urine give off radiation for a while after getting PLUVICTO. Always follow your doctor's instructions. Some helpful tips include: *limit close contact (less than 3 feet)* with others after each dose, stay hydrated and urinate (pee) as much as you can, *sleep in a separate bedroom*, and no sexual activity for 7 days. Use protection after that.'
