someone said “WAF” on a meeting about the PHP stuff and I felt my ears physically prick up and the urge to bark. is this normal?

(Reposting) First plug-in solar available here... seems outrageously priced to me. A single Aiko Neostar 2S+ 465W panel is about £120. A single Fox ESS 600W microinverter is about the same again. That mount looks very basic, and some cheapo mass produced sundries.... Thing shouldn't cost more than £300 inclusive of VAT.

They've clearly taken rooftop solar pricing as their benchmark for this (it works out suspiciously similar to my 7.5kW system inclusive of labour, scaffolding, certification, etc).

I instantly installed the "Proton" theme which looked the most like what it did before and that has helped.

can mozilla please stop fucking with Firefox? I do not want "widgets". I do not want a massive, garish gradient across the top toolbar. I do not want everything to have border-radius: yes-please-mmm-radii-fuck-yeah-give-it-to-me; set on it.

Just. Stop. Please :(

I like the new icons in iOS 27. Feels like they’re getting some character back finally after the flattening?

Slop of Theseus: the idea that if you generate something with AI, you can remove/replace every single part of it, but it’ll still be slop.

it’s this kinda day #dogsofmastodon

you know there's a thunderstorm when...

FOR YOUR INFORMATION
No satellite signal is being received.

The food/garden waste bin is audible there are so many maggots. Aaaand I’m out of salt so I can’t do my usual trick of boiling salt water.

oh and don't worry. a repo created by a first year CS student in 2015 with absolutely zero commits has just as much chance of winning as torvalds/linux.

we'll be reviewing every single repo and discussing the merits and detractors of each one.

right! that's it - the winner of GitHub will be announced soon, then all repos will be deleted. thanks for playing, everyone!!

How many people who had a personal phone that an abuser wasn’t aware of are going to have a truly, truly horrible evening/night because of that absolute fucking blunder? Unannounced. Pointless. Honestly so angry about this.

Spent a lot of time thinking about dragon balls today.

Not the Goku kind.

someone made a dragon washing game holy fuck.

(edit: attached the video because bluesky fucking sucks)
