Every copilot advert I see is all about how it is used deceptively to work against your coworkers.
The LLM producers themselves are why we don't trust people using LLMs

The realities of modern warfare make hosting your applications and data in data centers a risky proposition. However, with novel coding techniques, it may be possible to install applications, and maybe even store data, on end users’ own devices
Omg, Worf is the worst dad #StarTrek
Do you think everyone hates you and they are only being polite?
Successfully prosecuting the LLM companies under The Computer Misuse Act for their hacking activities is going to do a lot more to regulate their behaviour than any proposed regulation is.
I have a feeling any upcoming regulation will just build a moat around the existing big players and entrench their position.
I think gen ai/LLMs are supposed to make us give up on creating and FLOSS. If there is no community building things the only place you could get it from is the oligarchs.
(btw, I don't mean here, tho would be really cool if you did. I just mean in general, in your github repos, in your art, in your writing, everywhere)
Hi! If you create, maintain, otherwise a thing without LLM help, shout about it. There are people (me for one) who are desperate to find things that aren't part of the oligarchs' enclosure of our imagination.
Just look at this poster for Dundee Critical Mass #BikeTooter #CriticalMass
It is trivially easy (tho a bit pricey perhaps) to design a study to compare LLM notes to GP notes. Why wasn't this required before this was rolled out to the NHS? https://www.theguardian.com/society/2026/aug/31/doctors-ai-scribes-get-names-of-drugs-and-diagnoses-wrong-nhs-watchdog-warns

What is a good way to send an alert from Emacs on Linux to an android phone? (Happy to go via some messaging thing) #emacs
I'm finding it interesting that a lot of coders out there are ok using LLMs, but stop at the place where it might cause them copyright and licensing problems. This obviously is ignoring all the copyright problems inherent in LLMs and all the environmental and labour and capitalism problems and the rest
Does anyone know if howm and hyperbole are going LLM friendly?
I thought org might be safe b/c it is in emacs
When I was much younger, I thought I should try some of the things that I thought were bad ideas. Now that I'm on the other side of that I avoid them when I hear that other people I trust give good reports that they are bad ideas. I feel sorry for them, but I'm glad I don't have to punish myself to gather evidence.
Clojure Fandango looks pretty cool if you want to learn clojure. https://clojurefandango.app/ #clojure
I've only recently started using wdired-mode and it feels like magic each time. #emacs
@technomancy looking around the fedi (and wider) I'm wondering if we need human (Emacs|guix|clojure|scheme|other) user groups. Wdyt?
