I think HomeView is legitimately the first major Apple Product I have zero interest in. At least since I have started purchasing their products.

Can’t wait to see the results of folks who brought us cookie banners now designing OS APIs. The Future is exciting.

We have to stop him before he kills again.

Found it on my desk. Fell off when I removed it from the package. I remember hearing a sound of … something… when I pulled it out of the box. Put it back on and everything works perfectly.

Resorted to reading the hardware docs. It mentioned removing a jumper to measure power draw from the chip. Perfect! Grab my multimeter and prepare to remove the jumper… which is already gone.

Picked up a $10 ESP32-C6 DevKit to play with Embedded Swift over the holidays. Spent a few hours trying to the C-based “Hello, World!” program built and flashed. The SDK install and build went fine but flashing wouldn’t work. Tried all sorts of cables and arrangements. Googled, ChatGPT’d, read forums, couldn’t figure out why the communication was failing.

Unpopular opinion: SwiftUI should never add “unit test support” in the ways that folks want it.

The output of SwiftUI is something visual. It has layout, color, text, etc. it should be tested, if desired, with visual snapshot tests. That is the only way to legitimately verify it is producing what you want.

You should be pulling out as much logic from any of your SwiftUI code to individually test that, but UIKit “unit tests” that are verifying properties, etc, on class instances are gross.
