This was a good lil post that ultimately comes back to the necessity of being clear with your requirements when working with AI, but it would be a good technical post even without that. https://seangoedecke.com/what-requirements-dont-you-have
Unfortunately you’re out of tokens, Mr. Bond
Dear Atlantic: this is almost the headline but not quite.
The real headline here is: America loses the Cold War.
Republicans have bent the knee to Russia and Reagan (who to be clear is a fucking dickbag but one they claim to idolize) is rolling in his grave.

Something I still really struggle with when using coding agents: I get stuff done in a day that would’ve taken me a month (at least), but my goodness reviewing and keeping track of all this stuff in my head makes me feel like I worked 40 hours in like 5 hours.
I’m sure better tooling can help here, but the exhaustion is real, even as someone who got real good at context switching as a manager.
About to watch a few good men
Get flatMapped, buddy
It’s incredible what now happens in plain sight while the media fails to hold anyone accountable.
We’ve reached the point where the satire is funny until you remember it’s describing reality.
Many people are on a journey of slowly conceding that AI tools can do work as well as experts, often or even most of the time. Not all the time…yet.
The important discussion is what we as a society should do about that fact.
Many will argue about error rates or dismiss it as hype, but given the trends, that seems like missing the forest for the trees.
🇨🇦 If you live in Alberta I urge you to get out and vote down the seperation question on the ballot. Don't buy the protest vote bullshit that the seperation side is pushing. This is a real and serious exercise in expressing your will to stay in Canada. Vote early and familiarize yourself with all 10 questions.

Me: Realizes I can have Codex break giant PRs into GitHub stacks really easily
Also me: Realizes this raises my CI bill by the size of the stacks
Meta released Muse Spark Open, an 816B-parameter model with 42B active parameters that can run locally on two Mac Studios.
We’re reaching the point where increasingly capable AI models can run on hardware you own instead of requiring access to a cloud provider.
That’s a big deal for AI economics.

"While the Democratic base has grown more liberal but also more highly educated in the last couple of decades, the Republican base has become more ideologically extreme but also more committed to a particular style of politics: loud, angry, violent in its rhetoric, encased in a deranged media bubble, and indulgent of almost any idea, no matter how ludicrous."

started taking updog as a show of faith that AI will find a cure for ligma
This is a dumb article steeped in depression. It establishes that some people are miserable, without establishing why, or how prevalent and permanent it is. It goes out of its way to say anyone that has contrary claims is lying. It extrapolates from personal preference into grand conjecture.

Anthropic now states that Claude can code better than its engineers but humans are still valuable primarily to tell Claude “no.”
This was shared as part of their post about a small team building a replacement for git in five months.
