I have underestimated the power of the pineapple

important question; would Terry Pratchett want me to pirate his books? 🤔

Et moi c'est Sannah, hi hi ! ❤️
Bienvenue !!! 🎵

oh my god she's obnoxious in this translation lmao

looking at a shelf

C'est plein d'objets Pokémon colorés.

new word: plein - full

brushing up my German knowledge in the process (I never really had German class in school so I know none of the grammar words from school, but now that I've developed a special interest in languages in general, this stuff is extremely interesting to me and also helpful in understanding how other languages work)

not me going through the different cases of s'habiller in German and realising that learning the German version would be much more of a nightmare cause the word gets split up and reordered as compared to the infinitive there lol. compared to that dance, the me/te/se prefixing is actually wonderfully simple, though I suspect both have to only be learned once.

I’m doing that cause I feel like it, probably 50% cause looking for new irl contacts is too much work/I don’t know how, and 50% because it just doesn’t seem worth the cost of trying right now

but like, is that good for me?

y‘see, I’m just not sure if I’m particularly happy with how I’m basically ditching all social contacts in favour of japanese media and programming right now

wait what do you mean it’s September

while it is quite sad that such a name exists and makes perfect sense, I can’t help but be amused by the irony of the whole setup

looking for boys love manga that could potentially be interesting to me (as someone who has never read anything in this genre but is mildly curious and super into fluffy slice of life), I found an interest stack called „bl manga for people who like consent“. maintained by user „lesbienby“. lmao

some of y’all

one of the sillier things in here so far is that

while in other games spell casters can’t wear armour because it’s too heavy, because they need a proficiency they don’t have, or because it gives them some kind of mechanical penalty

in The Dark Eye‘s world, it is simply illegal, as in forbidden by law, for a mage to wear armour or carry weapons. lmao

so there's this tool called "maak"

it's a command runner configured in scheme. like make except just a command runner and all actions are just scheme functions

it would be a really nice fit for my guix system config, so I don't need to like, invoke time-machine manually all the time

but

the repo has this super weird graphic in the readme that looks off in multiple ways and they openly state that it was generated by chatgpt

which makes me worry about the code and the maintainership of the project in general 🥴

hako's Testament, from where I'm copying most of my ideas, used to use maak, but (for I suspect similar reasons) has since switched to "blueprint". which...I guess can work in a similar way, but is really designed as a full build system for both C/C++ stuff and Guile. idk...it feels a bit over the top to use that as my build system for a simple system configuration...

next day: I wonder how many ☕️ I have to consume until 💩

how quickly can you build a physical addiction to coffee 🤔

I had a cup of coffee every morning for a few days.

then I stopped due to lack of time, and I haven’t been able to poop since.

my fibre intake has not changed. it’s been more than two days now. slightly worried lol, might just drink water nonstop for a bit

  (if (string-match-p "^-?\\(?:\\(?:\\(?:0\\|[1-9][0-9]*\\)?[.][0-9]+\\)\\|\\(?:0\\|[1-9][0-9]*\\)\\)\\(?:e-?\\(?:0\\|[1-9][0-9]*\\)?\\)?$" (format "%s" value))
      (string-to-number (format "%s" value))
    (format "%s" value)))

aaaaaa.

do I understand this right.

you're checking if a string(?) (which you turn into a string in the weirdest way possible) matches a certain regex, and if it does, you convert it to a number to return it, otherwise, you return it as-is (with the format call of course).

just...my question is...is the whole purpose of that fucking monstrosity of a regex to check if it's a number?????

best guess is ça ne va pas, but that might be completely off for all I know (since I don’t know what either word actually means out of context)

gotta love how this french book (and my french teacher) teaches « ça va » as a phrase without ever explaining what each word means, and then expects me to be able to figure out how to negate it 🥴
