arch linux zealot: "My life for AUR!"

Does anyone have experience with using filesystem compression on laptops? Personally, I'm thinking of running BTRFS with zstd compression on mine, but I'm kind of wondering if it would be bad for battery life.

#btrfs

Hey, so, can we maybe not post pictures of a murder completely unCW:ed. Yes, it is important to bring attention to the fact that the gestapo is murdering people, I fully agree, but I, as well as many others, don't want to shut out the world, but also can't easily deal with real death happening on our screens without warning.

GRAHHHH I love building kernels :3

all these new generation copy-on-write filesystems, and yet no one has been brave enough to name theirs simply "cowfs". then they could call the package containing its mkfs, fsck, etc. "cowtools"

Is there anything like Schildichat Next for iOS? I have a friend who cannot use the Spaces feature in Element X, and cannot join LiveKit/Element Call voice chats in Element Classic. It would be great if there was a client which supported both of these and was on iOS.

Putting my phone in grayscale and disabling gesture controls has actually done a lot to make my phone less interesting and more tool-like. :neocat_thumbsup:

I am fully convinced that gesture navigation as opposed to button navigation in Android is a ploy to make the device more addictive

Does anyone know of an app that's a fork of - or at least similar to - the official Mastodon app for Android, but which supports glitch-soc's reactions?

I wish you could have unicode in hostnames :sadness:

Does anyone know how Mastodon filters work? Are they simple phrase matches or can I do more complex stuff like regex? I am filtering a word that also appears in a context where I'm fine with it, and I could reasonably come up with a regex which doesn't match those instances, but I don't know if it would work, and it would be an ordeal to test it, hence my question.

Finally got my ass to do proper uptime monitoring and notifications.

This houselab is really turning into a homelab (?)

The French name for regex is about as standardised as regex itself :neocat_laugh_sweat:

(Trying out ibus-libpinyin)
