How do you avoid wanting to give up? I'm glad to see others release nice app for video game collectors, but it hits really hard. I've been working on mine for years, barely getting traction, while others seems to have no issue with this. #BuildInPublic
When I try to build for macOS 26, I get this error. Does it make sense to anybody? #BuildInPublic
Turns out setNeedsUpdateConfiguration() needs to be called on iOS 26. 😅 At least it pushed me to improve this part of the code. #BuildInPublic
I dont’ know what I do wrong. Same code build with SDK 26, on iOS 18 it works as expected, on 26, when I scroll back to the top the list is visually wrong (tapping an item opens the correct one), and opening the menu, « reverts » to the correct list. #BuildInPublic
Clean Build, wiped DerivedData, no change. #BuildInPublic
This code doesn't crash in a new project. Replacing my project's ContentView with this crashs. Everything’s fine. 😅 #BuildInPublic
`indexSearchableItems` of `CSSearchableIndex` crashes when using the async/await version in iOS 26, works fine using the completionHandler one. EXC_BAD_ACCESS, not sure what I can do with that... #BuildInPublic
Turns out, the solution was to use @.preconcurrency on the delegate. Since WCSessionDelegate has absolutely no concurrency annotation, I guess it really is preconcurrency.
I cannot wrap my head around this, and find how to fix this concurrency problem. I'm going to swim to think about something else and try again tonight.😅
I know App Review might have a lot of work. But being rejected because the app is « unfinished » and shows placeholder text as Lorem Ipsum, in the Lorem Ipsum Generator tool, is bafling.
If the "Switch 2" is really just a Switch 2, I'm going to be a bit disappointed. Until now Nintendo never made the same home console twice, and always tried to innovate and find new gameplay ideas. Hope the Switch is not what we always are going to get from now on.
I can't decide which Mac mini to buy. Except the base model, they all seems overpriced. If I want to see for the future, I would go for the M4 Pro/24GB/1TB. But I could also just go for the M4/24GB/512GB and buy external SSDs. 😩
I don’t have a big community (followers etc…) so lets see the results.
On product hunt I only got 30 upvotes, which is clearly less that I expected (since it less that my smaller Amiibo app).
It resulted in 23 downloads on release day, its now sits at 35, and as been decreasing since then. Of this 35 downloads, none of them, NONE of them lead to a conversion.
As I released Tooly and saw how it went, I thought it could be interesting to post about it. More generally I'll try to post more about how my apps « performs ». So let's go.
I decided to try to release (launch) using Product Hunt, so most of my post linked to the PH page. Maybe it had an impact on the resulting reach. I posted on Mastodon, X, Threads and on two Slack channels. I've also contacted 4 websites.
I realized that I forgot to add basic analytics to Tooly (using TelemetryDeck). I’m wondering if I should cancel my approved builds for the launch and use the new ones. #BuildInPublic #MacDev #iOSDev
Tooly is now available on #TestFlight. It’s my new app, that let you use all the tools we find online (on sketchy websites, with lots of ads, tracking, etc..), but fully locally, with the data never leaving your device. Available on macOS and iPad. #BuildInPublic #MacDev #iOSDev
