"Smart" appliances and robots seemed desirable from Rosie in the Jetson's family, but Rosie actually worked and did not spy on the Jetsons, so I really see no advantage in those things. I'd rather have things messy and fill my own ice cube trays.

I like the fact that I don't *really* know if the fridge light goes off when I close the door. That is as smart as I ever want a fridge: Keep the set temperature and have the light on when I open the door.

There is nothing here to give much of a sense of scale (those background trees are very stunted black spruce), but this is a very large hunk of granite.

When I walk this area, I am so conscious of the ecosystem. I don't want to step on the plants, that are both hardy & fragile, & I don't want to damage lichen, which takes so long to grow. So I generally keep to the rocks but try to stick to areas with less lichen. :)
